Is this Popular Trail Worth the Hype? | Rutabaga Ride MTB Trail

How the heck did those hikers miss the GIANT STOP SIGN and gate at the bottom that says bikes and down hill traffic only? It's sort of a PITA for me to get to this trail, but worth it. I like to do a couple of laps here, and then head over to Floyd Hill for another lap or 2.

Floyd Hill rocks! I go there a lot more than Rutabega. It’s closer and I can get multiple laps in easily

Rutabaga is super fun! Great addition to the park. I usually start at the top and park in Pence Park which is much less busy. The only problem is that I finish with a long climb.

Great info! Didn’t know you can start at the top. That’s a good idea to avoid the carnival at the bottom

@@brandonhays5344 for sure! As boring as it sounds I’d play around with body position on a gravel road first if you can. The best riders in the world all practice cornering not just on trail but with cones too :)

This is my usual after work ride. It was really blown out today, it needs some TLC badly. Those hikers were deliberately doing that, there's no way you can miss the obvious BIKES ONLY signs at both ends of the trail, based on them bringing children along they were probably fishing for lawsuits.

I rode it yesterday and yeah, it needs some love - it's currently RUTabaga - tons of brake bumps kinda fucking up the flow. Still super fun though.

Those people with the little kids walking up the trail really suck. There's very clear signage and a gate at the bottom and very clear signage at the top. They're going to get their kids or a rider (or both) killed or seriously injured.

Agree - people need to double check signage any time they open a SPRING LOADED GATE
