That area of Little Tokyo that you guys went to is actually more than just having Japanese influence but it is a Japanese town in Jakarta. If you go there at night you will see lot of Japanese who live in Jakarta are going there and most of the Japanese restaurants and businesses in there are run by Japanese. Nowadays, that place transformed into more than just Japanese town but also cool hangout spot for youngsters. That is why you see a lot of street foods, nice cafes and food shop in there. You've mixed up. ASTRA INDONESIA is owner of Toyota, Honda Motorcycle, etc in Indonesia while ASTRO is TV station in Malaysia. You're around my neighborhood also to Barack Obama, Kuningan + Menteng, South Jakarta and Central Jakarta as one. Many foreign embassies are around including Dutch, Australian, etc. Da Vinci apartment tower is very old but very exclusive, very limited units, and the same price as in upper class areas in Europe. If you wanted to get authentic Indonesian street food you've stepped out too early, you should step out at Sarinah Plaza behind the plaza there's SABANG STREET with nice authentic street food. And and about 200 meters further you'd find "kampung turis" tourist village at Jalan Jaksa.

MRT statsiun Cipete,kamu bisa makan masakan Padang bernama pagi sore itu restoran lengkap dari Padang Sumatera dengan harga tidak mahal karena membayar makanan yang anda makan dan ada beberapa masakan daerah lainnya seperti dapur Sunda dan rumah makan cianjur itu ada di jln Cipete Raya Jakarta Selatan. Security in the carriage is what actually make the difference. Without it, some people gonna start selling stuff and doing nasty stuff and makes everything dirty like how it was. Go and google how Indonesian train was a decade ago, there is no security guard in those old system. Its actually to make the trains clean, the crime deterrent is just a nice bonus. Indonesia actually one of the lowest violent crime rate. Our crimes is mostly in the form of corruptions. But the stuff like pickpockets or mugging is really low compared to ASEAN region. Also the lowest murder rate in the world, btw.
