I just started watching your channel, and I was not aware of your quest yet. But I just checked, and I have several of those white cones. 15 years ago or so, I got to visit Legoland Winsor on a 'Red Letter Day'. Part of that was a behind the scenes tour, including the model building shop, and as a surprise we got to sift through a massive pile of bricks from it to take home. It included these, as well as things like fences, couplings and loudhailers in several 'non existing' colours.

I can understand people who say they won't support knockoff sets as there are totally valid legal issues in that case, but being loyal to the bricks themselves is frankly just dumb. You're paying 5-10x more than what you could be. Or, you could buy 5-10x more stuff. For someone like yourself who's churning through 1000s of parts, and almost every video has a reference to "I need to order more of these" or "I don't have enough of these to demonstrate X", I find it just wild you take this stance.

There is no legal issue with competitor’s bricks. There is no patent anymore on the bricks. The only thing still protected are the Minifigs. And in fact GoBricks have a much better part quality than LEGO.

And the colour selection is better too, when searching for parts for mocs I routinely find where they don't use a certain colour because it doesn't exist in lego, but gobricks has pretty much every part in every colour. Which was why it was so easy to get the alternatives the fan sent him.

The only area where it's more justifiable of a position is technic bricks, as alternate brands often struggle to get those right. But system bricks? Alt-brands tend to be superior in almost every respect. Plus they have other colour options AND some unique parts too, like a double-sided plate.

The joy of finally getting ahold of a new piece of LEGO one has longed for for years! I'm still waiting for a smaller version of 35251 arched window. A 3x4x4 version instead of 6 bricks tall, so I can use it for some double decker train carts I've planned to build someday. Sadly lego hasn't made any modern counterparts to the window elements used in the old Club Car waggon 4547 set.

Definetly whiten the piece. The only drawbacks are if the piece has shiny printing because that would become dull (stickers may not like it either). This has neither so there is no drawback. You just have to make sure you don't let it sit too long otherwise it will become milky.

You can direct purchase parts like this from Lego's shop (it's in the section where you ask for replacement parts for sets that came with something missing; if you're not actually missing the pieces you can just buy them for a few cents apiece. If a piece is currently in production, isn't exclusive to the Collectible Minifigures line (**sigh**) and doesn't have a licensed character print or molding, they likely sell it there. I bought like a hundred skeletons and generic minifigures with the classic smiley face, solid colored red and blue shirts, etc. and put them in little grab bags for my 30ish nieces and nephews one year, alongside some BrickWarriors or BrickForge accessory packs to outfit the characters with highly detailed (if unofficial) gear.

Hydrogen peroxide whitens temporarily but the yellowing will always come back worse. Yellowing is an oxidization process and when you use hydro.perox. it leaves the molecular structure more open to the oxygen that yellowed it in the first place. It's like brushing the enamel off your teeth and leaving nothing to protect them after. I have multiple times performed the experiment of hydro.perox.'ing one half of a brick and leaving the other side untouched. Each time after only a few months the side that was treated surpasses the yellowness of the untouched half. As much as it sucks if you want to minimize yellowing the answers are "don't touch it" and "don't touch it."
