Yeah, some random place serving potato pancakes (placki ziemniaczane) is almost never going to be good, you can even get digestive issues from old oil and such. They're supposed to be crunchy on the rims and juicy closer to the center, not overall burned like this. These look like ready-to-fry crap quality processed type bought from a supermarket and not hand-made from actually grinding fresh potatoes. Not sure about Ustroń, but if you go to a larger city, you will find these in many restaurants and in mostly 2 varieties - with sour cream, which are designed to be a sweet dish or with goulash, possibly with some melted cheese and mushrooms on top, very garlicky and well seasoned. These are considered "traditional" but are actually called "Hungarian potato pancakes" (placki po węgiersku). Or you could just have them solo, if you actually just like the way fried potatoes taste. You should try it out again, just in some more decent establishment, that focuses more on food than beer.

Sadly you got burnt cakes good tip is always try eating at places with no tourist shops because less crowded places care more about the food and how is given to the customers. Cheers! 😀

If you still there and you are looking for really good food go to Angel's pub. The cab which you were passing by on the other movie is actually 'poster' of that restaurant. You'll find yourself in there as this is British style pub, but food and service there is at top level. You can also try 'placki ziemniaczane' on the other side of the river. There's wooden restaurant as well but usually they are made way better than that waste which they gave you to eat. Try them with sour cream and sugar (sweet) or with goulash (salty). Good luck!

You are doing amazing job with your videos. You prove that the image of Poland being a racist country is exaggerated and people are really welcoming here. Look how happy the people become when they say "Dzień dobry" from a foreigner. Hearing something in their national language automaticially boost their opinion of non polish-speaking person. I wish for you to meet more positive and welcoming people while you stay in this country.

Sir The potato pancakes that you were given should have been return because they were burnt and flat I suspect, that it's an amateurs, not cooks. As a Pole, I am ashamed of such treatment of guests. 😁🌺
