They could have trim levels of $80k - $110k - $150k and have this material and a bigger battery in the 110k that has the more powerful higher voltage rear motor that does 650hp, and a smaller 350hp motor in the front, to have 1000hp for the $150k and 1500kg

Honestly it's nice to see any manufacturer prioritize lightweight over more power, regardless of EV or combustion. I'm not sure why they have forgotten that with lightweight comes more speed AND handling. Rather than just stuffing more ponies under the hood and getting some speed but losing the ability to handle.

This car peaks my interest a lot actually. I came in with the mindset that it's just another electric car, sure it's probably going to be fast, but just another boring electric. I think this looks very, very promising. The design itself is very pretty in my eyes. I also love how they kept normal mirrors and didn't cave in to the whole, everything has to be electric thing. If I had the money and this goes to production pretty much as is, I would 100% buy it.

I usually am not very fond of electric cars, but this one caught me 😊 I like the simple, but beautiful design, without weird shapes, the aim for a lightweight car and that the dashboard looks like a proper dashboard, not like a living room with iPads. Well done, Caterham!!!

😂 vehicles now are designed around fuel efficiency. The drag coefficient between a ice and ev is not that much. a lot of vehicles could just be converted to EV. That wouldn't happen though because there's not many charging stations and there's no control right now. The government and auto manufacturers would lose all sorts of money and the public would be free from a lot of BS. We can't have that now can we?

We definitely needed someone to make a super fast, lightweight car, where "range" isn't the priority but rather performance is. Smaller battery packs can charge extremely quick and would be beasts on autocross courses.

Got to see this car at Silverstone festival a few months ago. It was quite impressive to look at up close and is one of the best looking electric cars I've ever seen, and I've looked at many 😆 not because I want one though. I was surprised to see that drive unit model at 12:56 This car seems like an ideal application for the Lucid single motor rear drive unit. Those are becoming available to other manufacturers, can be speced up to 670hp, are much more compact, and allow equal length axle shafts. Using offset rather than coaxial drive units not only take up more space, they are much heavier.

I absolutely love this from Caterham! From the looks, the weight, retro, philosophy, style, and the simplicity, especially loving the dashboard, switches, etc. Also, Caterham our being smart, thinking about future battery technology, and incorporating this into their design. Team from the designer, owner have really paid close attention to detail, not bothered by being the fastest but simply designing a car for people who love to drive. And even more kudos this coming from a small company that doesn't have the resources like the big players like Porsche, Volkswagen and being able to pull this beauty off. Even Gordon Murray, i think, would definitely approve. Well done, Caterham, for putting hope in the era and transition to EV from the combustion engine. Hopefully it will drive as well as it looks. I love the approach of not having marketing-lead design and of minimising the number of cooks in the design kitchen - just look at the focus and purity that that approach results in!!! Caterham and Renault started designing the A110 together. Due to differences the joint venture ended but Renault continued with the Alpine. Looking at this new Caterham it looks very similar to the Alpine in size, weight, double wishbones and price. Alpine have said they will be producing an Electric A110. I can’t help think Caterham have missed out on a huge partner in Renault and this car could have been in production already and saved Caterham development costs.

This is interesting. For a while now cars have been getting more complicated and more expensive. I’ve predicted a return to simplicity, at least for cheaper cars. While this is simple for a different reason, I can see a lot of these design principles making its way to regular cars, especially the interior. Caterham really should get rid of the electrically adjustable seats though.

I love that they actually use the front bumper for aerodynamic gaps. Most EVs look like ass to me because they seal everythinf off and just look like a fish or a an egg with no vents. Vents can still be beneficial even if you change the motorization of a vehicle!

One of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen ! My recommendations (understand - simple, light, fun) …. 1. Cameras instead of side mirrors - even sexier. 2. All wheel drive w/ torque vectoring 3. 0-60 mph in 3 secs 4. 325 mile range 5. Boot back wall can come down to extend into behind seats 6. Has to use Tesla charging standard natively 7. Fast charging 8. If everyday driver then really comfy seats - possibly vent/message. 9. Different trims with higher trim having high end components/ quality if want to spend more 10. Bigger apple play screen 11. Right side driver … Ship USA

The problem of the sterile, homogenous drivetrain is still there. But at least some companies are trying to make involving cars not just relying on 0-60 times
