Max Chilton is such a great guy. Often when you have the teams dev driver around, they can come across a bit conceited as if they're almost annoyed that they have someone like Mat driving their car. I still remember back when the Ferrari F40 was the pinnacle of speed, and someone calculated this out: If a top fuel dragster (of that era) was parked on the starting line of a dragstrip, and the F40 passed it going a full 200 MPH, the top fuel dragster would catch and pass the Ferrari before the quarter mile was up. This test reminded me a lot of that demonstration.

Young Swiss engineers have developed an electric car that also uses a fan system for additional downforce, but it's way smaller and not for track use, just for the acceleration. That world-redord car named "mythen" has 326HP and weighs just 140 kilos. It goes 0-100km/h in 0.956 seconds, needs only 12,3 meters of road to do that.

That 0-60 time is basically what you can experience on Stealth at Thorpe Park with an acceleration time of 0-80mph in 1.8s, which is now as of 2024 the quickest accelerating rollercoaster in the world. That feels INTENSE so I can only imagine what it's like to experience that in a car. WOW.

Saw this thing at Goodwood and after watching F1, LeMans, Canam, Rally, Pikes Peak etc.. absolutely flat out all day up the hill, the crowd were basically stunned as this went by, the noise completely changed as we shared disbelieving looks at the pace of it. Almost looks cartoonish as it goes by it's so fast, incredible. Interesting detail at 23:03 when the fan spools up and you see the car sucked to the ground on the front mounted go-pro

I actually saw this car at the Silverstone classics F1 weekend a couple of months back, it is incredible. I met the driver who broke the record at the Goodwood festival of speed (Max Chilton) - got a picture with him and a signed McMurtry poster. Good to see it get the recognition it deserves.

It's jaw dropping, but to me, a tiny single seat road registered race car is a not really a 'hypercar' inthe true sense. The Nevera by comparison is a large flashy two seater car which is way more a road car than this is. This is technically a road car, but really , its not that at all. No concession to comfort or practicality, pure race machine. It's awesome, but this in not a road car.

I’m a designer/engineer at a yacht company, and 95% of my work is in CAD. Seeing awesome innovation like makes me want to do anything to have a complete 3D assembly of this car. I’d love to see how they’ve ducted the downforce fans, and how they stop ground debris from damaging the fan blades. I’d also love to run CFD simulations on the body to see how all their aero design works. Obviously no company would ever release that model, but a man can dream 😂 Incredible video btw, you’ve earned my subscription!

@@insert1coin436 Best way to get into it (and free) is a program called “Fusion 360” theres also countless KZbin tutorial videos on that software. I’d also recommend getting a cheap 3D printer (anything Creality brand is great). The printer will make it a lot more fun/engaging to teach yourself 3D design. Once you have a foundation with fusion its 10x easier to learn other CAD software because all of them essentially do the same thing, just in slightly different ways. Fusion360 has grown a lot and you may find companies looking for people that know the software. However, the most common softwares used in different industries are: Auto industry: CATIA, Yacht Industry: Solidworks + Inventor + Rhinoceros , Construction= AutoCad.
