Perfect timing! I just got back from testing the gravity 98 and completely agree with you. Coming from a pure aero 98 and having a ohbh I am very impressed with this racket. Its almost like my old pro staff 97 and the pure aero had a baby (closer to aero tho). Very slightly less power than the aero BUT waaaay more control /precision in every shot category. Serve was also pinpoint precise with negligible speed difference. I’m gonna keep testing over next few days and really considering the switch. Also the paint is insane in person and feels great in hand.

How does the launch angle compare to the aero 98?
@outlawd3
@outlawd3 Күн бұрын
@proshepherd simply put I’d say flatter (not fully flat tho). Since my aero 98 has more spin and power with the same technique and power I was at first getting net. Then after adjusting and hitting through more it sorted itself out and I was hitting fine after 10-15 mins. I noticed this with my forehand, ohbh and slices were also lower and straighter (better than what I was gwtting with aero 98). BUT I played for 90 mins today for first time and have the test racket for another 5 days so will get better picture after that.

@outlawd3 sounds pretty good. I'm currently using a pure strike 98 18x20 and I want something with a little extra pop and spin. I wasn't sold completely on the feel of the aero 98 so I'm wondering if this might be the answer.
@outlawd3
@outlawd3 Күн бұрын
@proshepherd a playing buddy was on a previous version of that pure strike (also ohbh) and switched to Gravity MP 1-2 years ago. He added some lead tape some time ago to beef it up and loves it. BUT he is now also wanting to check this one out. Feel is also much more ”comfortable” for sure and less ”raw”

I had pro staff 97, then the previous tour 100 then now the pure aero 98 as it gave me more power and manoeuvrability than the tour. The pure aero feels slightly more ”flickable” than this gravity 98 but this one feels much more controllable and I can put the ball where I want on the ohbh.

Ive been waiting for this video, thanks a lot!! I play with a vcore 100 and use spin (but not a lot) and like to flatten shots often to get more aggressive.. I want to switch to a control racquet because I think it will match more my style and was waiting for the GT98 for that but after most reviews I was more inclined towards the Blade because many ppl are labeling GT98 as not a control racquet.. Your video changed it, im going for this probably.. When you say the gt98 is more demanding than the blade do you mean in comfort level or just the fact that you need good technique to access control?

Excellent video as always! Love those new Gel Rezies as well ;) Probably not a comparison you would have expected to make, but how would you boil it down to versus the EZone 98? The head size is probably the only similarity, and they have drastically different beams. They also seem to have gone in opposite directions when it comes to RA and swing weight - hence my question. I LOVED my Gravity Tour 100, especially on serves, and will still bring it out to hit casually. It’s what pure tennis should feel like but I struggled with it in matches. That’s where the EZone 98 V7 has helped me a lot. Might lack a bit of plow through but such a forgiving and stable all rounder, with still very decent control being a 98 sq.in! Probably not worth switching back to the Gravity 98 yet, fully focusing on my game for now, but would love to get that feeling back!

@SpiceLifeWithShams I don't think I have a problem when fresh and get plenty of speed and spin on both ground strokes and serve. The problem is that after about 1.5 hours my serve is the first to suffer from the ~340 strung weight of my rackets. I like a bit more head light setup so have ~4g of tungsten under the butt cap.

I Would love an in depth comparison between this gravity tour and aero 98. I’ve tried both and think they are the best two racquets out at this time!
