My lcs sold me some damaged buffalo rounds for spot and they were 4 9s

I like the Buffalo but the generic Morgan rounds I just received from APMEX might be my new favorite. It'd be interesting to know about 4 9's vs 3 on the Buffalo. It never crossed my mind, but now I need to know -- for no reason at all.

The 4 9s Buffalos i purchased are minted by CNT. Bought from local bullion dealers both premiums were the same its just a gimmick. Dealers will not give you more or less for them, my experience. Just purchased a tube of buffalos from APMEX ,beauty's.

AH !!!! Thank for the info. I'd been looking for the manufacturer for quite some time. My LCS' first question hen I showed them the coin is "who makes this ? No maker's mark.... how can we trust this coin". Very grateful for that information !
@leprechaun3677 Жыл бұрын
Yup, my local coin shop has the 4 9’s mixed in with the 3 9’s -same premium. They seem not to care when buying from them, and I guess the same would hold true with selling them back. I’m sure the mints themselves may charge a higher premium if buying directly from them, but that’s just my guess.

Quality control standards at the U.S. Mint in high? Then why do we see jacked up rims on the gold buffaloes?

Britannias, Maples and Kangaroos over Buffalos any day of the week. The anti-counterfeit tech on the Britannias make them way more valuable than a generic round.

I just don't believe that there are no other companies out there that can compete with whomever is supplying the US Mint with the blanks. Sounds like shifting the blame to me.

Hey I recently purchased silver rounds and there’s 2 different silver buffalo rounds on the market one is cheaper but came with no mint mark ?
@apmex Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for joining us! Silver buffalos are considered generic silver rounds, meaning they are minted by private mints and do not have a face value. They are extremely popular, and many mints produce them. Some will have a more prominent mintmark and some may not place one at all. Our own 9Fine Mint manufactures them as well, and the mintmark is visible on ours. In contrast to the silver buffalo, the gold buffalo is actually a coin (not a round) and is produced by the US Mint and has a $50 face value. Hope this clears up any confusion!

@@apmex Thank you . Although I was just being silly there from the 9 fine mint I couldn’t see them at first but I was saying there was two different listing for the 1 oz silver buffalo round and there was different prices by a couple dollars I ended up buying them for 26

I like your vids, they are interesting but I have to let you know since you changed your website last week, it made browsing your website frustrating and untenable. Please fix it so I may enjoy and purchase from APMEX again. When I bring up 90% silver, a product ad/slider takes up 2" of my Mac's screen and won't go away. Your vids add to APMEX but us older guys like to spend our money where they care about such things. Please, please fix this... I would love to be impressed, but as with most business today, we've lowered our expectations... please have your team fix this so I can follow your video recommendations.
