Got mine, used, just three weeks ago. Fired about 50rds through it. Traded in my Saint Victor for it. Now, the Saint Vic ain’t a bad .308 at all, but the DD5 beat the pants off of it! Yes, it was used, but from cleaning the gun, I realized the previous owner probably fired less than 100 rds out of it! In fact, the buffer spring was so new and stiff, I had a hard time pulling the BCG back until at home, I pulled it at least 3 dozens times to lessen the stiffness. It’s in a nice brown color. The only thing missing are a nice scope and a can. I have my Vortex Eagle 4-15x scope on it. It’s a nice scope but it’s second focal plane. Want a first focal so eyeing a Trijicon Creedo LPVO currently. Will get it once my credit card clear cause recently, my local shop had a used STG-58C FAL, used. I had to have it because it’s the “right arm of the free world” so overcharged my CC. In Fall, might have to get the can. Thinking of the Huxwrkx Flow 7.62 and my DD5V4 will be complete.

This was painful to watch. It’s a very nice rifle (I own the same model), but poor shooting and analysis. And what was the rifle zeroed at?

What kind of groups do you get with 175gr match rounds? I can only get 1.5-2 MOA (excl 20% worst in 5-10 rd group) With 168gr FGMM it is 1 MOA, but that's the only load that does such. With CBC M80 it's abseymal

Mine shoots .68” conservatively with my handloads with many .5” groups and made a few bolt guns look bad…but I have the ssa-e and 15x viper with 3yrs blastin rounds I’ve made everyday for many weeks on end…I wouldn’t take $4k cash for it

I’m buying the DD5 V4 in 6.5 Creedmoor and topping it with a NightForce ATACR 7-35. Anyway it seemed like you were rushing your shots. I bet your capable of much better groups with all of the ammo you shot.

Your 100yd hits are high because of height-over-bore. If you zero at 50yds, your bullet will cross your crosshair again at roughly 200yds. But with a 100yd zero, you generally don’t have to worry about hitting high at any distance.

Probably didn’t switch the gas block to suppress.

Id imagine it’s a gassing issue, idk if id even call it an issue, probably just didn’t set it to compensate the suppressor

Sub MOA at 50? Either that rifle is shit or the shooter or both. This guy talks like he's an authority on the topic but I he clearly is just winging it. "I don't think it really likes the ammo?" My aero DMR rifle with an x calliber .308 HB in 1-11 wouldn't shoot that poorly at 500. Unimpressed

even with the excuse of that scuffed firing position on a truckbed with the legs like that...3 failures to eject, one cut where you fired without the magazine and holes all over the place at such short distance ..????? for such an expensive rifle ..that is not waht I expected.

Try 168’s, mine shoots .3/.4” with factory 168 horn elem and .7 with 168 fed smk. It absolutely hates 178 horn precision hunter

Handloaded from mine 3yrs with thousands of rds tested and been to 1k yrds…I think they are the best .308 from all I’ve seen…which is almost all of em lol…mines setup similar but 3x15 viper..

I have the DD5V3 as well. It is picky with some ammo, but when you find what it likes, I've found it to be very accurate at 300 yards and at least minute of man at 500 yards plus. I also took a chance on the Primary Arms PLX 1-8 FFP, and it works perfectly for what I want from this platform. I'd buy another without a second thought after a year of problem free use.

What load did you find it likes? My V4 only shoots the 168gr FGMM to 1 MOA consistently. Can't get 175gr to do the same

I put 3 178gr hornady white box match in 3”@520yrds on steel…hit a 20oz on 1st shot

My DD4V4 is undergassed at supressor setting + Sandman S. I can feel the action cycle very slowly. I'll be reducing the buffer weight. Normally it functions fine.

Pretty sure those first two groups of Hornady precision hunter all keyholed. (178 grain for the first group, 175 for the second group.)

This video convinced me not to buy an AR10 and just buy a bolt action with an AICS action. Battle rifles are overrated and your standard $800 bergara or tikka is going to be significantly more accurate than this. Put a bergara into an mdt chassis and you have a way better precision rifle while maintaining the enjoyable features of an ar10.

You look way more concerned about looking cool than shooting groups. And it shows in your groups..The reason elevation is different with each ammo is because the rifle was zeroed with a certain ammo to a certain distance not because it likes one more than the other. That only shows in the groups (which is why it doesn’t matter where, but how tight). And is also why most people are more concerned with getting good consistent shots, with good repeatable position, shooting off a bag and maybe actually trying to take a steady shot when making these comparisons..and it shows in their groups. I would bet this guy doesn’t shoot sub 2moa with ANY gun.

You have invalidated your results by shooting out of a pickup bed. I regularly shoot 1 MOA or better with my DD5 v4 308 at 100yrds can hit a metal silhouette beer bottle target at 600 yards with some regularity.
