great video and thank you for showing a actual comparison and not just listing specs. I appreciate also that you covered a spectrum of rifles (aero build expensive nice parts vs premium rifle like Daniel and scar) showing a good user case point. especially covering design aspects like barrel design and barrel profile.

Aero precision regularly gives discounts to their uppers from 10-20% every other week. They did 30% off sitewide for black Friday deals that lasted roughly 2 weeks. Built my M5E1 (no sighting system + I didn’t get an adjustable gas block) + their 2 stage trigger for only 1200 including tax. So for the value, you just can’t go wrong with the aero precision.

Awesome video! I would agree SCAR is the most controllable while being that light. The POF Revolution PD (while being even lighter) really shoves me back with each shot, especially when sitting down. I also found that SCAR is the least picky about ammo in terms of accuracy and reliability; even with some gunky bulk M80 with loose tips, it never had an issue and usually held less than 2MOA(3-5 shots). The one I used is the NRCH version, it has pretty dialed-in gas settings from the factory for both unsuppressed and suppressed. I didn't have any wild POI shift. SCARs don't normally whip left or right. Maybe check your barrel screws or perhaps redo the screws? I bet you can tighten them some more at 62in-lb.

This is encouraging in the realm of Parts and CS, but not in the realm of Caliber and configuration in current Military Application. Military is going to shorter barrels across calibers, and some Mini Action Calibers, but the 308 is not going to be a serviceable round in the 12-14" Range. At least he has cleared the SCARH from the worshipful wish list. Even though it is what I call a LongStroke system like the AK. AR10 while missing national standards/Mil Spec., there is much available for them in the after Market. That means that you may choose to only pay for what you are going to use, building the strengths that you perceive to be necessary. That is so much more exciting.

@@NorthernMarksman thanks so much ! I have a scar 17 also but not nearly as many rounds. I started getting into shooting it supressed but had some issues with a dead air sandman baffle strike. Since it’s the second issue I’ve had with them and since I’ve heard the flow cans kind of work best with the scar platform, I’m thinking of just starting over with a hux. I was genuinely thinking of dumping the rifle after thinking about the potential other issues like the optics breaking and such but I think if I go Nightforce like you did or like a vortex razor 1-10 I should be alright.

@user-mp2kx1by9m flow through would definitely be the way to go, just be aware of potential increased flash, especially if it's titanium. I also tried the sandman S on the Scar and it was awful. Super gassy and increased recoil.
@stevenbarnes631611 ай бұрын
The screws walking back in your scar are not from the stock, it is from running it suppressed. That's why it voids the warranty when you run it like that.
@NorthernMarksman11 ай бұрын
Some people have reported accelerated wear due to the metal hinge plate of the ACR stock over the plastic factory plate. Either way, poor design if it can't handle being suppressed when intended for Military contracts.

@NorthernMarksman15 күн бұрын
@Jrh-rp7np it's still expensive for that full pressure round and hard to get so I would probably go woth something else in the meantime. I have been playing around with 6.5 creedmoor which seems to be a good candidate.

@ I got boat loads of old Austrian and other Milsurp 7.62x51 lying around so it would make the most sense to get a 7.62 but still that 13 inch barrel with those hybrids slapping out of their is quite impressive and Gunbrokerwebsite whatever it’s called has boat Loads of it now even Sig is selling some.. it is ridiculously expensive but you have to think once in production ramps up more and more will hit the market… In theory anyway

My 16” suppressed m5e1 would always get random stovepipes every 5-10rds with a new round partially chambered and spent round pinched. I have a seekins adjustable gasblock, 3 different sprinco spring weights, two new bolts (aero and lbe) and every buffer weight you can imagine and it still did not like running suppressed. Unsuppressed? 0 issues. Literally nothing other than smooth shooting. Suppressed? Absolutely not. I got pissed and bought the DD5 V3 and have never shot a smoother 308 in my life. I gave up on my m5e1 after 2 gunsmiths and weeks- months trying to tune it to shoot more than 5-10 rounds without a major malfunction.
