I have this tent for about 2 years. It has work very good for me. I haven’t had any leaks however I haven’t had it out in heavy rains. One con would be that the vestibule area is very limited for your equipment I usually cover my equipment outside under a plastic sheet or trash bag to protect from moisture. I also purchased the footprint made for this tent for extra protection. Good review.

Thanks for your comments. I personally like this bivy, I also put a tarp over it to protect it from the elements, this in turn would also help keep any gear you have outside dry 👍

Thanks for making this great review of a bivouac tent. I'm glad you considered head room and being able to turn over in it. I toss and turn in the night too, so it's good to know there's enough room to turn over without turning the tent over with me. I've been considering these types of tents for years. Well, ever since I saw the first of it's kind in a 1980s Popular Mechanics magazine, entitled "Bivouac 2000". The article was about military bivouacking. Their version had hoops at each end that I think could be used to make snow shoes (if I recall correctly).

Thanks for your comments. I’ve really enjoyed using this bivy and being taller and broader, I felt I had ample room, even with a sleep system in place. I personally think it’s worth the price tag! 👍

There are several reviews of this bivvy tent over the years, but this is by far the most comprehensive and balanced, thank you. Station 13 apparently have a version of this (also made by Geertop, they tell me) but with a higher HH at 3000mm............?
@outdoorswithrichard10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and positive remarks, I really appreciate it! The HH could be a little higher in my opinion, but then again, it’s kept me dry, so can’t complain. The station 13 one, sounds interesting! 👍

I personally enjoyed using this bivy, it's never let me down and for the money, I can't complain. A great bivy specially if your taller or a little bigger. Also being less claustrophobic than most bivy's, it makes camping in it, a more enjoyable experience.

Great review, I just thought I'd mention about the HH and the "upto" 5000. If the fly is 2500 and the inner is 2500 that doesn't mean the tent is 5000 HH, it's only 2500, it's not an accumulation of layers.

Thanks for your comment. I hear what you say, I did however personally speak to GeerTop and was only relaying what they said 👍

He said the fly is 5000 and the tent is 2500 so the max between those two is 5000 he didn’t add 2500 and 2500.
@camping_guru_uk9 ай бұрын
3.20 in to the video he states the "fly is 2500 and the inner is 2500". He is quoting the brands specifications and how some people believe that then gives a HH of upto 5000. Listen again. @@PhilDoesItAll

Thanks so much for this good thorough review, I have now got this as my first ever bivy tent! Wanted a stealthy tent for summer which opens both sides and isn't too claustrophobic. I've got a Helm 2 for bad weather etc as can cook in porch etc.

Thanks for your comment! I think this is a great bivy for the money, it gives you a nice bit of room, without the claustrophobia, but at the same time the bivy is not too big, so ideal for a bit of stealth, neither is it too heavy/bulky. Also really easy to pitch and pack down! Two doors are also definitely a bonus, not to mention the side entrances. A great choice of bivy in my opinion! 👍

Great vid. I’m considering getting this one (green cover) to use with my military groundsheet/ shelter. Great option! Wish had OD green & no white on the main tent

I’ve personally never had an issue with any water leaking, however just add some seam seal if needed, it’s cheap and easy enough to do. 👍
