Having used Free Spirit and Harrison rods which just perfect, I would have to say they beat Daiwa by a country mile. And, though I personally haven’t used them, Century rods I am led to believe are fantastic too. I have used numerous Daiwa and Shimano reels over the years and Shimano hands down the better option.

@@ThePaultandy I was a tackle tart in the early to mid 80s with Tricast rods, ABU Cardinal 55 reels and the first Delkim conversions! God how I wish I could fish in that time again, but with some of the modern items such as distance sticks, braid, spomb, sharp hooks, DNA S7 bait amd a slip D rig!

But I have heard that if you use pallatrax tackle on those rods and reels you catch the lake record every time. But keep it quiet Simon doesn't want his secret getting out!!!😂

Great setup mate. I have similar, with shimano mags and free spirit Hi’S rods and wouldn’t change them. I love them. To say that they would out fish them is a bit silly as you’ve probably never tried them and they are the crème de la crème. To all the people slating these, would you not have and use them if you were given a set? Of course you would. Very much like cars if you think about it - you can go on 1000 mile trip to Europe in a Ford escort, but it’d be a hell of a lot more enjoyable in a Bentley continental. Each to their own.

in my opinion as much as I love high end nice looking tackle lord knows I do but in all honesty I feel there's no need to have to spend so much on a fishing setup let alone charge that much there are rods out there that cost a fraction that to just as good. I really feel like carp fishing has become more about the price than anything else charging 950 for a reel or 900 for a bivvy prices on simple packs of hooks are close to 10 pounds for a pack of ten i feel like its going to more of a "Whos got the better setup kinda thing" and people spending money on something they couldve got far cheaper and does just as good .

100% agree have used Daiwa rods and reels all my life and these in my opinion are the best. Do they catch more fish no are they the dogs to use yes. It’s all relative if you have the dollar then why not if you don’t no worries. You only come round the track once so fair play. Three rods three reels about the same as taking the Mrs on a cruise that’s up to you. You get the Shim and spirit Daiwa haters but have they used these perhaps not. They are perhaps happy with their set ups which is fair enough but tech moves on.

As a commercial rod builder ... those guides cost pence and are totally inadequate ... Fuji Torzite T2 reverse frames @ ~£110 per large guide puts it in perspective! Century and Harrison blanks miles ahead ...
@DannyFR304 ай бұрын
Over priced. Why? Because they sell you a reel for 800, and then have to "fix" the issues. So you're stuck with a reel that you have problems with that cost you 800, or you buy the new "improved" one for another was of cash. I feel more comfortable middle market prices. That way if i have to take a loss on idk.....distance, im ok with it. If it cost me 800 and the issue was the same....im going to feel niffed.
@Zee_Bul4 ай бұрын
The best... Best of what? Casting distances? (really doubt that). Casting precision? (well, maybe) Innovation, technology, materials, fit & finish? (at that price, they better be. But I can think about at least two or three other rod producers - and one of them not from UK or Japan - who can argue with that) . C'mon, guys, you need to go deeper than just reading a spec sheet or some official product description.

Do you not think you have to be at a certain level in your angling ability to feel the difference between a £300 reel and a £800 reel, I’ve only just got myself tournies and think there bloody great reels, I would buy them if I could afford them (I can’t) but would they be wasted on a average angler. Saying that I’d love a go and take my hat off to anyone who can afford them. Good job boys
