I broke 4 ribs going through a metal turn style, a victim of the bike projecting itself and me crashing into some metal railings. Still have pain 4 yrs later. I didn’t realise what caused it except without touching pedals, it just shot forward. This is a beauty looking

Pedal assist is fine as long as you have brake sensors fitted. That said I was stopped the other day and nearly flipped my bike because of it when I was got off the bike to check my phone, got some funny looks off people lol I should have turned off the controller. My only issue with it on my Bafang is it takes a split second for the power to turn off and it can be a bit unsettling/unnatural feeling. I will definitely consider torque sensing for my next build, hopefully the prices are better.
@jakebarnes3054 Жыл бұрын
Which bafang do you have? BBS02 or BBSHD? I believe you can program these to cut off as soon as you stop pedaling, this is using the programming cable that plugs into your laptop or computer with a USB. Hope this helps.

If you could get luggage pannier and mudguards for it would make a great commuter bike

You can, mine are in delivery, set of fenders and a rear rack. I'll fit my existing saddle bags to that as well as the child seat.

Thanks for your videos, really enjoy your home build bikes. I changed my hub motor bottom bracket to a torque sensor, won't go back. You can really control the power to the back wheel. More natural ride

love your reviews mate , keep up tjhe good work as its very helpful! im torn as to whether to buy the cyrusher ranger or a billy goat by goat bikes (pretty much the same price). As a UK user do you think id be safer with the cyrusher as the billy goat looks a bit more moped style? love to know your opinion!

Got mine the other day. Seems like I've got different handle bars than the one here. Mine don't curve up as much like the ones in this video. Going to get a adjustable stem make it a bit higher I'm 6,3 and it's a bit too low. I had a throttle on my old 250w folding fat bike and I agree it's much safer than cadence pedal assist. (Update) don't know if its a new version or im really lucky but my throttle goes past 20. I had 27 going sightly uphill no pedaling at all (private land honest). My horn seems to be a lot louder than any of the video's ive watched on youtube as well.

I was told by halfords when I enquired, about two years ago the bikes all had to be pedal assist and limited to seventeen miles per hour. Otherwise they were classed as electric motor bikes. The reason given was because of the legal definition of a motor cycle and a pedal cycle. I wa told there were "too many accidents with them because of the higher speeds.

Where were you riding there Steve? I come from the same area as you mate and that off road area looks good, Belfairs woods? Looks different on film 🤷♂️ what I’m looking for is your bike stand (make) as some of your builds must weigh a ton!🤣🤦🏻♂️ Good looking bike that one 👍

Just odd that this frame is purpose built for mid drive with the cavity in the bottom bracket and they put a rear hub motor on it.
@Certago Жыл бұрын
They are bringing out a mid drive Version of this very soon. I couldn't wait and went for the hub drive, so far very happy and expect that the chain and sprockets will last longer than with a mid drive.
@ashpunting Жыл бұрын
You're right. Take the cadence away and make the throttle legal it's safer and replace cadence with torque assist 😂👌🏾

@deanoh6414 Жыл бұрын
What nonsense re the pedal assist. KT controllers offer imitation torque control which is varying watts at each PAS level. Controllers can be configured to require various revolutions of crank before it kicks in. And if you've got the proper brakes fitted that cut the power to the motor when applied the issue is almost fully mitigated.
