They do work well. I'm just not a fan of how they are a little rough on the filets.

Hm I'll check them out. You sure you like the length, or would you go a little longer? Thanks pal

I used the 9 inch medium flex all last season on the charter boat and it performed wonderfully.

I know the other one is nice. That one looks like it works very well, too.

The one I used all summer on the charter boat was a 9 inch medium flex and I really liked it also. They wanted me to try this one over the winter and so far I’ve been equally impressed.

Steelhead are tough fish and will dull a blade quickly. This one holds an edge well even on fish with tough bones. You can neck down the angle on these knives, or any knives for that matter, to make them much sharper. The issue it that they tend to lose their sharpness quickly once you start changing angles.

I learned that no really sharp knife will hold an edge very long. Electric knife sharpener is the best thing you can buy.

I've been surprised how long this brand of knife will hold and edge.

@tangledtacklefishing Which is a nice thing especially when you are in the field and can't use a sharpener. It does look like a nice knife.

Definitely a sharp knife, but for me it boils down to which one will retain its edge longer for fewer sharpening sessions. I have no doubt I could change the 20 degree angle on my knife to a 15 degree and it would go through a fish just like that one, but it also makes the knife more prone to dulling quickly. So for me I'll choose the one that holds its edge longer and still performs solidly. I appreciate the feedback.
