Hey Bryan, kinda off topic but: I'd love to see you explain next stream why you think that platinum is as you say "the future" and why you are fond of it as a store of value. I am not quite sure about it, especially since it's mostly used industrially, and even there it becomes gradually less and less. For it to be seen as a store of value, similar to gold - it lacks the popularity and traces of it's history as such in the people's minds imo. Thx & keep up the great vids!

The big problem with Razor Blades is that they couldn't cool the core components enough in the ultra-thin form factor for the CPU and GPU to run at their optimal speeds, and in trying to do so, they were very loud. If they have solved these problems, then I'd say that they have finally hit their mark. I ended up with a thicker and heavier Alienware laptop from 2016 specifically because of those issues (and I wanted the 4K Touch Display with over 100% sRGB and 100% aRGB for editing). I'm so happy with this laptop that I use it more than my over powered main rig just for comfort, and if I can ever buy a GPU, then I can use Alienware's Graphics Amplifier to bypass the internal GPU and keep using it. It's heavy, but it's also tough as hell...

The biggest thing you pay for in Razer laptops is their durability, they are the Macbooks for gamers and I have my 2017 pro model and it has been running like a charm. so if you want something that runs for the long haul this is the machine for you. (Keyboard still sucks tho, would take dell's XPS keyboard anytime)

It's too expensive for just an 80-100w 3070 Max-q The MSI GP66/76, alienware M15/M17R4 are cheaper and have a higher tdp 3070 mobile If you want a thin and light, get the Gigabyte Aorus with 3080 Max-q which is cheaper at just 2000 dollars. It'll be faster as well.

Not necessarily i didnt have have the desktop space, so i got a laptop that outperforms this razer in games for 1500, heck it probably would've been more money going the desktop route plus getting a decent monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc. Especially since i got it last November when gou prices were absurd. "I believe", RTX 2000 series laptops (last gen) GPUs were on par with desktop GPUs. I'm not 100% sure but I think that was the case... I would never own a "gaming" laptop because I don't need it, they're way overpriced when components are sold at MSRP prices, they get worse performance compared to desktops, the battery drains REALLY fast when gaming (so kind of pointless) and you don't get the joy of picking your own components and building your rig afterwards :)

Hey Bryan can you do a video on the higher CPU overhead on Nvidia cards vs AMD cards for us that are using older CPUs like 4790k. It seems with older CPUs, even a weaker card like 5700 XT would get you better fps vs a 3070 or 3080 because of that high overhead on Nvidia cards. Thanks and keep up the good work!
@weecious3 жыл бұрын
You need a CPU upgrade that way a 3070 or a better GPU won't get a bottleneck. Quad cores even with HT are starting to become outdated for gaming now days... but they lasted for 7 years since last quad core i7? That's a lot of money saved.
@HJayZ913 жыл бұрын
@@weecious I mean a lot of people don't have the funds to upgrade everything at once and of course for gaming you want the best GPU you can afford. In the cases we would want to know how we can squeeze out the most performance and if AMD or Nvidia cards would give that to you. Also if you're playing at a higher resolution, that will also help minimize the effects of bottleneck as well.
@weecious3 жыл бұрын
@@HJayZ91 I get that.. that's why I upgraded my CPU and mobo last summer, was gonna get an RX 6800 but due to mining and scalping... looks like I'll be skipping this gen of GPUs. I play at 1440p and even upgrading from 1700X to 3700X got me a perfomance increase of up 20fps in some games. Single core perfomance was lacking with 1700X... 3700X feels a lot snappier. Right now is a good time to upgrade to a newer CPU since GPUs are 2 - 3 times MSRP prices. And next CPUs will be using DDR5 which will be expensive for at least first year to two years. If you buy a Ryzen CPU then make sure you get fast RAM, it really does help quiet a bit to get better perfomance in games and in certain apps. I know for sure since I built a rig for my dad when 1600 was $80 brand new and got a 16GB DDR4 3000mhz CL15 which I tested in my rig and I got noticeably lower fps in few games that I tested compared to my 16GB DDR4 3600mhz CL16 kit. I would say for Ryzeb it's best to get 3200mhz CL14 at least (on budget CL16) or 3600mhz CL16 or better. If you go Intel then most popular kits (with many good reviews) 3000mhz / 3200mhz kits should be fine. Zen3 is overpriced and Intel's 11th gen is a disappointment... which CPU are you trying to get 6 or 8 core? As much as I don't like Intel since they made us buy quad cores for too many years... it seems that Intel is the better price right now. 5600X/5800X are way overpriced. If you're not into overxlocking then i5 11400 or i5 11400F is the best price/perfomance CPU. It's basically on par with i5 11600K in games when both running at stock speeds. If you do other things besides gaming that require heavy use on CPU then definitely get an 8 core.. right now i7 11700F seems like a good deal.. too bad you can't overclock it though.
