Gemma and Campbell, you have made my day. Thank you. We used to go with our canoes up to Coniston for many years. My late dad learned to swim so that he could canoe onto the little islands on the lake. I used to go out in a double canoe sometimes when we had friend tag along with us, but preferred our own canoes which we had. Some beautiful places around Coniston, such as Tillberthwaite Gill, John Ruskin's House Brantwood, but you saved the best till last Muncaster Castle. I have a special place in the grounds where I always go to sit, take a flask and let the world go by. Usually a robin pops up and either sits on the arbour or on the bench with me. Shame you didn't get chance to have a ride on 'Lal Ratty' which is a stones throw from the castle and is a lovely scenic ride on a little steam train showcasing the Western coast of Cumbria, which is not as touristy as say Keswick, Grassmere, Ambleside but does have some lovely places to visit.

Great video. I live in Barrow and there’s so much to see and do around the Southern Lakes. Walney island has nature reserves at both ends where you can watch Seals. There’s Piel island with its castle. The stone circle at Birkrigg, the Buddhist monastery at Ulverston. Hoad Monument, Cartmel, Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands, Broughton and much much more.

Born and bred Barrovian, now living further north in the Eden Valley, so nice to see the old place. Barrow-in-Furness is pronounced Barrow (Barra) -in - Furnace locally, anyone emphasizing the "ESS" is spotted as a visitor lol Careful of the Walneyites on the beach, couple of nature reserves at either end of the island. Please don't fall into the Windermere trap of calling Coniston Water Lake Coniston, I'm sure I'd be as welcome as midges if I started saying Lake Lomond or Lake Ness, pedantic I know but..... The Abbey is in ruins after its destruction during the dissolution of the Monasteries, it's the second largest Cistercian monastery in the North. If you enjoy it there, you can travel over to Piel Island and visit the castle Enjoyed the views of home cheers.

It won't be quiet for long now it has been put on KZbin. (Cornwall is currently rammed solid with motorhomes looking for somewhere to park and I blame KZbin for that.)

I think I commented on the short vid. That blue bikini is gorgeous. Where did Gemma get it? Wife is looking for beach stuff for our next jaunt. Side mirrors, I got my drivers smashed so I swapped it for a short arm version which brings it closer to the van by a few inches. I can now see the mirror properly as the original was blocked by the "b" pillar in the small window. I have better viz along the side now too because I can see the full mirror. Might still get the protectors but I can't find black ones.
@highlands2hammocks2 жыл бұрын
It’s a new release from Tala 😁 I’ll get a link for you as we have an affiliate programme! I would definitely get a set as they may be expensive but have saved our wing mirrors so many times!
