The 3.8 is not far off the 4.0 (5% less)- on the top of the range the 3.8 runs a little more agil. On the lower band the 4.0 is epic. all 4.0 owners should check the screws in the crankshaft. the px difference between these 2 cars is not justified

Without the cage, the 3.8 interior looks just like a gt3. Even the seats are not the cf bucket rs for rest of world

That is true. Only a couple pieces are different between the GT3 and GT3 RS interiors.

I owned a 3.8 GT3 Clubsport with cage and own since 2 years an RS without. While I tracked the GT3 back then, I bought the RS just for weekend fun. I don’t miss the weight and noise from the cage at all.

This is a bad review... I owned both, still have my 3.8RS. Whatever your say on the 4.0 is totally overrated. The 4.0 is unreliable, the 3.8 is okay reliable but still... noise is same, power is similar, chassis wise the rose jointed rear is just an 800$ part that i had fitted to my 3.8RS and the rear spring which is different. For the weight the carbon fender and hood nets you about 6kg for a cool 25k$ of parts, i have a Lithium battery and saved 18kg for 600$. Both feels relatively similar and not as different as you mentioned, i am a former pro Pcars driver. The best to drive of them all is the 996.2 GT3RS, but the best to own is the 3.8RS value wise.

No the 997.1RS has only 415hp and the same as the base gt3, while RS3.8 has an upgrade. Gearbox on the 3.6 is long because of the 3.3 R&P, the 3.8RS is 3.89 like the 4.0 which wakes the car a lot ! Front end grip is also very different 3.8 cars are much better. I owned both 3.8RS is the best value proposition.@@brianhimmelman420
