I stayed in the Premier Inn in Inverness - amazingly large Premier Plus room and its possibly the best location of any Premier Inn - right overlooking the River Ness. The Plus Room overlooked the river.

Hello Mark. Thanks for this interesting video. For me, the best bit was when you admitted that you could not get the air conditioning controls to work. That cheered me up! Until a few minutes ago I thought I was the only person in the world to struggle with hotel air conditioning controls!

I stayed in this one with my wife during the pandemic, December 2020 as she had an appointment with the Home Office near Sunderland. We were told upon check-in that we were the only ones staying there. Very nice Premier Inn too.

I was here with my other half a couple of weeks ago. We were only in Newcastle for 2 nights but we enjoyed our holiday. We were impressed with the premier plus room we got.

Myself and Alice stayed in a Premier plus room in Portsmouth a while ago whilst we had a some work done at the house. We really liked the room but we didn't think the price difference was really worth it. The bed was the same, no difference in size of the room but we did think the little details like different shower gel/shampoo and coffee machine. For us, not really worth it but we loved the idea! Also.. 100% on team bath over team shower, and 100% still water over sparkling! 😂

Stayed there not long after opening, and it certainly was one of the best, though im fortunate not to have found a bad one yet

I was in Newcastle just 2 weeks ago, stayed in the Maldron, just around the corner, very nice hotel that was too. I stayed in a Premier Inn+ room in Leicester, the amenities were the same, although the room itself definitely wasn't as nice.

I stayed in one at Wimbledon Broadway this year. The aircon was very good and would have been essential had it been very hotl. The fridge and free water were very useful and the chocs were tasty. The ultimate WiFi was a bit underwhelming though was fine for my requirements and the less said about the art the better. You are spot on as the price was not much higher than a standard room and I would be tempted again but I would not pay much more for one.

My goto Premier Inn for London is Heathrow Terminal 4. Two of the floors have rooms with fridges and irons. Not Premier Plus, but a trial apparently and they cost no extra...

By chance, I'm staying in the very same hotel in October also in a plus room. I've stayed there a couple of times, but always the standard rooms. The only PI+ room I have stayed in previously is the one in Berwick, which was lovely. Great wee video though, thanks Mark for sharing.

Can equate with all this very much Mark because I just got back from the IOM and they put me in a Premier Plus room which I'm sure I neither asked nor paid for, but floor 5 in their case, their top floor, are all Premier Plus rooms with all the features you so well pointed out. Top of that list being the bed which may well be the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. I normally jump up in the morning in anticipation for the PI breakfasts but I didn't want to get out of it 🙂 Not sure how I ended up in one but I guess there really are such things as free upgrades, I'm not normally so lucky. 👍

Have to say premier plus is great. The gate is my favourite premier inn, in Newcastle. You should try glasgow buchanan galleries as they have the new evolution rooms and they are superb for a normal room 😊

I was booked in at the Newcastle Quay side Premier inn, I have now changed it to the Gate after watching this.

My favourite hotel group, they've just opened one in Cork City. Around the €90 mark per night, still less than half the price of any other hotel in the city centre. No pool or gym though but who needs those for a night's stay after a night out. That padded bench is for suitcases to prevent soiling the bedding and doubles as a seat. They have some cracking deals on at present.

How far in advance do you have get £90 at the Cork Premier Inn? The Premier Inn s in Ireland are often very expensive.

I’ve stayed in the Cork one fairly recently. Cost was £47.06 when converted into sterling. Like you said, half the price of almost every other hotel in Cork - no wonder it was so busy! I might do it again with the deals on offer at the moment if only to go back to Quinlans for fish and chips! Best I can find atm is €48 late Jan 25. Bargain for Cork!

Premier Inn used to be my go to hotel of choice I used to like to get home to see family and friends in Bolton but post pandemic the prices have gone expensive and not come down mainly I think because of the migrant hotel room situation in the other similar hotels making the market for the likes of Premier Inn more competitive.

@@yonmons hotel prices have gone up all over the UK. I think the huge increase in energy prices is the main reason.

I have used Travelodge and Ibis but not Premier Inn. Seems you had a great time over there. Your room in terms of size and amenities reminds me of the Sheraton room which I booked for 4 nights in Athlone, Ireland, early this year.

The bathroom looked clean but can u get a UV light to show how really clean bathrooms are? some other hotel reviewers do it and it's nice to know the real state of how clean it is

The Co-op use to have a lot of big supermarket types stores in big cities but hardly any now although their rural stores are a lifeline for small communities.The only big supermarket style Coop in the north I can think of is in Whitby one of 3 along the Middlesbrough Whitby Esk Valley railway the other 2 are small ones in Castleton and Great Ayton.I never bother with Premier Inn as Travelodge is always cheaper.

Shrewsbury Premier Inn is so lovely, but they have dual control lifts and I entered and found one side is a dummy for staff only. Banging on the door and screaming for help is not my idea of a holiday in Shrewsbury, lol.

I recently stayed at the hotel outside the station (county I think its called) in Newcastle. Wouldn’t stay there again coz they wanted a 50 quid deposit.

Stayed in one in central Manchester a few years ago prior to an exam the following morning (thus avoiding the horrendous commute); I only booked the Premier Plus room as I was spending the whole evening there revising...as it turned out I did terribly in the exam but still got a First overall, so all good! If it had just been somewhere to lay my head I wouldn't have bothered upgrading...even though, in my experience, the price difference was very small.
