The one that was a mish-mash of Nevermore, Neurosis, Trivium, etc., I'd just like to say that I'd rather hear a mish-mash of those bands than of Bring Me the Horizon, Asking Alexandria, and/or a lot of modern Grindcore/Gorecore. Just a thought, a different perspective. I thought that song was pretty decent, and it took things in a little different direction than a lot of song submissions. As far as being, "wordy," as a negative... check out some of Mike Muir's BEST work, which is usually his more, wordy, "stuff." (Suicidal Tendencies, Infectious Grooves.. ).

* As far as metal goes, Burn In The Fire is my favourite. * Arav is a very close second. I mean VERY close. His song reminds me of early Metallica. All he needed was to solo through 10 wahs, and he would have the Kirk sound. * Wanderer reminds me of what The Contortionist would sound like if they wrote an instrumental song. But I must agree on wanting vocals. * But yeah. So far, "Letter I Never Meant To Write" from the first video, would be my vote for winner.

The first track sounded like it had a cool Legend of Zelda vibe, shame it was too L O N G. Black widow was cool, nice and scuzzy, it got me doing a wee desk dance at 08:45 in the morning. I would love to hear it with a really good human drummer. I remember Aravs OBB entry, he's really come a long way and it's really cool to hear his progress! Well done Arav! Nightmares and Dreamscapes was an anthology of HP Lovecraft stories I read as a kid, the front cover was also used as the cover for Obituary's "Cause of Death". Pointless facts aside, he totally nailed the Nevermore vibe and I am digging it. It's the sort of thing you can listen to when you want to listen to Nevermore etc., but have run out of Nevermore etc. Monkey Death Rocket sounded like a good basis for a song, i really liked the solo, it had some cool Gregor Mackintosh vibes, but the song really needed some vocals and more variation and development. She performed it as a contestant on Star Search in 1993 (she won that season) when she was 21 and people are still covering that song in TV singing contests around the world. Actress/model/singer wrote the album The Divine Comedy when she was 15 and had to wait till she was an adult to get creative control. Rolling Stone gave the album the equivalent of a B+. Meanwhile, a bunch of 20+ year old metal guitarists are confused on why a three minute solo isn't considered a verse or chorus.

Just my 2 cents, but these guys worked hard on these songs, and I'm sure they gave it their best - takes guts to put it out there. "Strap me on a rocket and get me the fuck out of here"? I don't know. Best of luck guys, I thought there was some great stuff.

Rules are rules. You can work as hard as you want if you dont follow the rules its not going to get you anywhere. Also following these rules is not all that hard
