I had to wait 7 months in 2022 before taking delivery of a new X100V from Fuji … definitely worth the wait … it’s a keeper! At least I only paid the MSRP. I still take snaps with my iPhone but the X100V is on another level! 📷🙂

I just recently assembled an alternative EDC due to my frustration on the price of X100F or even X100T. I still have my X-T1 / XF 18-55 / 35 f2 / 23 f2. I ended up with Olympus OMD EM 5 II, Pana-Leica 12-60 f2.8-4, Pana-Leica 15mm f1.7, Olympus 17mm f1.8 and a Lumix GX800 + 12-32 Kit lens ALL FOR 1030 EUROS to be exact not to mention a lot of extras. These are all in mint condition and the Pana-Leica specially the 15mm f1.7 is a thing of beauty, Jpeg Output don't need to be edited as well. Olympus and Lumix have their own color characteristic. EM 5 II feels like a brick in combination with 17mm f1.8 and smaller than my X-T1 + 23 f2 combo. I am very satisfied.

I got the xt30ii with kit lens and slap an adaptor to use a minolta 50mm 1.2 prestine lens I had from my father... Still haven't explored it fully but I think it's a better alternative...

Found your content from a Facebook group. Great video and content in general. I have the x100v and as much as I love it- I agree it's not worth the hyped amount of money it has skyrocketed to. I was lucky enough to get it very early days before all the tiktok madness drove it to this, and even then, I think the original 1399 USD was still quite a lot but Ive loved the Fuji lineup for a while anyway so I bought it. Good thing I did, because now used ones are selling for between 1800- 2200. Not worth it whatsoever, when you could buy basically any of the other Fuji X lineup camera bodies and a 23mm f2 for me much cheaper

What would be cool is if you could take the shot in RAW and then choose which emulation you want to put on it, afterwards, in camera before transferring

I might be wrong but I think you can do that on camera, if not, you use fuji software and connect the camera to emulate whatever you want...

Hi Danny thanks for your thoughts on the “V”. I have also just watched yours friends “V” opinion. It has become common to see options like yours and your friends about the “ film like” IQ, but you never say what film type you are comparing it to. I am not a film shooter so I am not experienced enough to be specific, but I think it’s unrealistic to compare an image taken in Astia(?) and compare it to an image shot on Kodachrome (?) I assume an experienced film shooter would load a specific film to suit the conditions of the day. And that if those conditions changed the results might not be real indications of what the film type is capable of. So those images might not be considered, relative to the specific film, film like. So short of carrying multiple cameras with multiple film types to make the best images the film type can produce you can’t guarantee the perfect “film” look. So as I said, you need to spacific if you are going to speculate on any given image. I think you would need to, to be far, bracket the film simulation, and then compare the results with images taken with the original film stock. This is an observation not criticism, I have owned the “F” and “V”.

You’re absolutely right. And i’m not a huge film shooter myself either. The recipes i’ve used are things i’ve found on the internet and adapted to suit what I want. You could say they are relative to some film stocks but how close, who knows! I have a few stocks I have used and love, and they are things i have tried to emulate but even the difference in light can change so much. But to throw another variable in, when you shoot film you can push it when developing the film and you could use expired film that changes the image entirely. It’s so hard. Plus with all of the settings on the fuji cameras, you can alter the image even with just classic chrome. I think when people do say “this is my X emulation” you have to take it with a pinch of salt. That’s their take on it, nothing more. Thanks for watching

Fuji makes good stuff. I have two pairs of Fuji binoculars and the optical quality is friggin' amazing. So, I'm guessing that if this camera was crap, no amount of hipster cred' would be enough to turn it into a world-wide sensation. Will I buy one though? I'm in love with my Leica M cameras right now so I think not. I just bought a used Leica M10 Monochrom and it's my long-lost spirit animal. I love it.
