Is this the coolest fountain pen accessory ever?

If you know anything about me and my pen hobby, you know that I like a good fountain pen rest, and this one by CoppertistWu is amazing! It looks great displaying all kinds of fountain pens, and it even makes a great desk ornament on its own. It's made of brass and 925 silver, and it has zircon inlay for its eyes. And the snake has over 2,000 detailed scales! This fountain pen stand is now a permanent fixture in my home office.

This must be the hottest item in the fountain pen world right now. Several members of my fountain pen group have one, and I've stumbled across eight videos about this pen rest in the last week along, and without looking for it at all. It is beautiful, but I doubt I'll buy one. I spent more than a year camping in desert areas with at least a dozen species of rattlesnakes, and I never used a tent. I never woke up with one in my blankets, but I didn't find one, or two, in my camp, sometimes only a few feet away. Can't say I've loved rattlesnakes much since then. I already have too many pen rests, anyway, including some that cost three times what this one does, only to find that my two most used rests are not my most expensive ones. One I use a lot is simple walnut that only cost a few dollars, but it holds seven of the little vials that samples on ink come in, and I find this extremely hand when using dip pens. The only I use more for fountain pens cost about a hundred and seventy-five bucks, but it was a present, an I was grateful to get it. It has a marble base and brass risers that hold two pens. It also has a deep brass cubicle at each end for inkwells. It's probably coincidence but a large Diamine ink bottle fits into these cubicles perfectly. I use a lot of ink and some of my favorite pens hold very little ink so I have to refill every day when I'm using one of these pens. I prefer pen rests that have built in ink wells to make refilling faster and easier. I actually like ink wells more than pens rests on the whole, and I love it when I can get a pen rest and an inkwell as a unit. That's one of the things I love about J. Herbin ink bottles. A pen rest is built right onto the bottle. Very cool and convenient. I just played around with one of the snake rests for about fifteen minutes but I don't think the scales are an issue. The contact points won't damage a pen, and certainly not urushi. My only issue is that a pen doesn't seem terribly secure on the snake. I don't like rests that are shallow enough to let the pen come off if it gets bumped. But this is one cool rest for those who don't mind the cost, and who do like snakes.

Interesting! I think the company must be making a big push toward the fountain pen community right now. I'm probably one of many fountain pen reviewers who was approached about this pen rest.

I, too, really like this product. First, I saw it on another of your videos and was intrigued. Perusing you video list, I spied this one and voila, I now have ordered it from the link you supplied plus one other item. Bonus: there was a Halloween sale = heaven + free shipping = more heaven. What a salesman you are. As yet I do not own a Lamy Safari. What are your recommendations at this point? Obviously I did watch your video with a bit of criticism of it.

P.S. I should add that when I receive it, I'll likely keep my Visconti Home Sapiens Dark Bronze pen on it. That pen is beyond sturdy, delights my eye and glides over paper as angels fly.
