Most of these armchair racers haven’t been past what their economy car is governed to. Accelerating that fast on something so tiny is a huge challenge, he did about as well as anyone could hope to without a lot of training and thousands of dollars to replace parts as you wreck them from launching so damn hard.

@@mildtowildrc7343 agreed I had a big bore kit cr500r on alcohol mounted to my kart and if you blinked you would miss a shift and unless you have piloted something like that its hard to fathom the acceleration and the butt kicking you take with no suspension! My brother n law had a nasty 07 zo6 at the time I let hime ride the kart once and he wouldn't even get out of 2nd gear it scared him so bad as it was solid mounted and that big 2 stroke would rattle your eyes something crazy and after his ride i could never get him to pull the vette up against it :)

Not even close. Way back in the late 60's I saw a turbine powered go-kart hit 220 mph plus at Willow Springs International Raceway. A few months later he did the same thing at Sebring International Raceway. The guy who owned the go-kart said he still had plenty of power left, just not enough track to do it on. His lap times at Sebring were faster than the formula one cars that were racing that day. I also saw a guy once that had a 1,000 cc Kawasaki engine on a go-kart. I think he was in the 180 plus range with that.

Sorry gokarts are not similar to TF dragsters. TF dragsters do not use a transmission at all. A multi disk clutch is connected directly to the rear differential. The performance is levels above a kart. When a dragster is one car length(300inches)from the place it was sitting before launching it will be going 100mph. 0to100mph in .8sec. The upward swept exhaust pipes provide 1000 pounds of downforce. The rear inverted wing at 300mph exerts 12,000 pounds of downforce at max. The entire run takes only 3.4seconds to complete at 320mph. At half track the progressive clutch has welded the plates into a solid mass and the sparkplugs have burned away the electrodes and stop working. At this point the engine ignites the nitromethane through dieseling. Shutdown is done by a fuel shutoff not an ignition switch. The supercharger produces internal intake boost pressures of 50-75psi and requires 1000 horse power to turn it at peak rpm. They have no radiator, no water or coolant in the engine. The engines cannot be measured on engine dynomometers. The power is actually calculated by weight, e.t.,mph and datapak torque sensor in the rear end. They have a lot of aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber in them. The frame is Tig welded chrome-molly tubing. That gokart is just a toy or hobby. The only part similar is rear engine behind the driver layout. Thats where it ends. Wrecking a cart at over 100mph will likely kill you 75% of the time. Your chances are much better in TF dragster even over 250mph. Only 8 deaths in NHRA in the past 27 years. Sorry but a TF dragster is NOT like a gokart. Not even close.

this is NEVER 170hp ... every 170 hp motorcycle would have made atleast 280kmh at the end of the straight... (for comparison a 198hp stock Hayabusa makes around 250kmh at the end of a 1/4 mile drag. And way over 300kmh if the limiter is removed on a 1/2 mile drag. and u are lighter and "just" make 218? something is off. Even with the slow start the end speed is to slow. this is more like 90hp. Only othe rexplaination is that the guy doesnt know how to drive and he missed every shift. But i have to say this is still mindblowing fast.. i personally would not want to drive that fast on a go kart.

Karts tend to be traction limited at around 100hp. One reason you never see racing karts exceed that amount. Fastest kart is Jack mcclure’s hydrogen peroxide rocket powered one.

This guy did good driving . Back in the 1960s my dad gave me a gocart it was modified 5hp cart frame with slicks for rubber, Honda 360cc engine the biggest drawback was made without any BRAKE SYSTEM at all . The big day for me to drive the dam thing we pushed out of the shop on to own grass Airstrip 3000ft X 100ft wide . I started it up feathered the throttle up down maybe 10 sec give dad thumbs up put in 1st gear half throttle pop the clutch I sped off side ways let off the throttle got pointed straight with more throttle gently increased speed grabbed 2nd gear stayed in 2 gear 2800ft I turned it around heading back did sum cookies coming back my dad was waiting at end of the runway for me I get back to him he says have fun and walks with one are friends laughing. I turned the cart back around round opened throttle up 1st gear I launched hard this time grab 2nd did control skid side ways fathered throttle got turned but full throttle heading for 3rd full thottle again grab 4th full to 5th gear had slow up shifting down now all the gears got to end of runway turned around I could see 2 dark figures on the other end I knew I was going get my butt chewed so i got on it coming back the vibration was really bad too . I could tell he was upset but didn't say a word to me but heard him whisper to his thats man killer shuck his head they pushed cart back into shop and I never saw the cart again. I new it was going to be touchy subject so I waited 30days before I talked to him about the cart . So I asked him about the cart first I wanted to apologize to you for putting in danger and for selling my cart to the guys at the local airport and found from they clocked at 150mph 4000ft paved runway. Sorry the long story
