Using the generators only when necessary to charge the batteries must really increase the efficiency as while charging they are not subject to the extremely variable demands that are common when powering loads directly. The mobility and ease of set up offers so many advantages while also minimizing the use of fossil fuels. Bravo! I love Victron equipment, wouldn't use anything else.

The photovoltaic panels on these containerized units provide only a trivial amount of power. Unless the power consumer has the unusual situation of their power demand going to very low levels for prolonged periods, that power consumer can get _essentially the same benefits_ as these containerized systems from using a common *Inverter Generator.* Such generators spin only fast enough to generate the power required at that moment, and use the inverter to keep the power frequency constant.
@jimthvac10010 ай бұрын
This is far more efficient than using an inverter generator that runs part throttle all the time. This generator runs at full power (where it is its most efficient) to charge the batteries. when the batteries are topped of it shuts off. True the solar panels do not generate that much power but these are big enough they will help. Gas or diesel engines are not near as efficient at partial load as one running at full load. But if your comparing a store bought generator to an inverter generator yes an inverter generator is going to be more fuel efficient. But this setup is far more efficient than n inverter style. It is more efficient because the load can be small and the generator does not have to run at partial load. only full load to recharge batteries as needed.

1600 watts of solar output is not a lot, especially in cloudy Netherlands, not even enough to feed one household, I bet it will run the generator a lot to keep the battery topped off. Victron is quality for a fair price but nowadays you can buy inverters that also perform very well for ⅓ of the price. What i dont like their somewhat deceptive power output ratings, because most people don't know that a multiplus 5000 VA is only rated at 4000 watts continuous and are suprised when I tell them that.

@johanncover198810 ай бұрын
@@silviuflorescu6838 that is a very valid point and in the time of more expensive solar panels I would agree with you but now in an environment of cheap pannels and falling batty prices I don't think its valid now. 500-1000 dollars in savings can getting your a good amount of pannels and $1600 can get you over 4kwh of battery storage, which is much greater than any parasetic load on an inverter can use up.

@@johanncover1988 , you are right, too. From my perspective, I chosed the modularity , in case I want to upgrade it at some point and to use some of the components in my campers builds. The power genertated by the DACHS is considered PV-power..... as I can only meaningful determine the grid-,meter of the DACHS as PV-meter If you determine the DACHS-grid-meter als generator the calculations in VRM are nonsense.. The issue is, that one cannot determine a grid-meter as generator-meter in a net-parallel system. Will you fix that one day? Cheers Michael

First off, 600Ah of battery will barely run a small house for a day, let alone a construction sight, do they have any idea what they are looking at? The solar panels, while a nice touch won't get you any appreciable gain in real life use. That diesel? Generator is going to see a lot of hours. This is IMHO a "feel good about yourself" scheme.

Many off grid companies have huge generators running all day and night for low loads like cctv, laptops in a portable cabin etc. This generator can help in these situations. The offer a variety of battery sizes. Again if a site is running low loads but needs power, the solar is more than capable of keeping up with the demand.

The difference between a partial loaded generator and an optimal load generator is that the diesel is used 4 x more efficient. So this means that on a typical site the fuel consumption is going to drop with 75-80%. Which also means less maintaining , less fuel transport ,less noise and so on.....

Said they like to produce global! But the website is not in English, and I'm not going to use google to translate to find out more info! And I can't get information about this so-called green generator in the state of Florida. Unless there is another English based website one can look at. Which i find crazy the video is in English!!

6 panels are a waste! You need much more than that to make this thing worth while.

Not necessarily. That's plenty to power a crew portacabin/restroom on a construction site.

Love the Dutch idea. It will be more fuel efficient then a standalone generator and the solar is a nice touch. However @2:40 the claim is made that a standard 16A 1 fase outlet is good for 4,5kva. I am sorry but is not. 220/230V multiplied by 16A is around 3,5kva. I am using you equipment since 2018 for independent power at job sites. Still works like new.

It’s a shame that we have been building these for many years and they think it’s a new idea. ? ? With so few solar panels you will be using the generator the most. Dean

Green : because that's the color of the container ... solar power only produce less CO² than the grid if you use them 24/7 for "decades" .... could be ok in poland or germany ... NOT france ...

This is one more expensive system we get by going for green and unreliable energy sources.

well, by saving this much fuel and mainaince , this could even bring costs down for energy on places where there is no grid and nowadays generators run 24/7

why not charge with a bedini , better than solar

If I had a small wind turbine plus solar panels connected to a Giant motor that only charges batteries. I could do without a Diesel/gas Gen 80% of time. Just make sure I have batteries oversized in Amps. This is equivalent to steam 🚂 Generation and not 🚫 this excuse to sell a high maintenance Gen.

terrible in idea and execution. no wonder they only make 10 units a year. a fuel generator could be cheap upfront but it requires frequent checks, maintenance and less reliable, needs an exhaust, might breakdown when you actually need or while using it. replace this with LFP battery then you could use some of the charge when electricity is expensive, could ROI unlike the fuel generator has almost no ROI.

@@billybones4523 agreed. companies replace parts that are barely worn down or used to maintain high reliability on mechanical equipment. it would be better for this company to make fuel generator set as an option or external module and make the main product fully electric.
