Nice video. I love VR GOLF and have tested different games/software over the years. Maybe you can make a review/video on The Golf Club VR? That's a real VR GOLF sim and not as arcade as Golf+...As you said, probably the next thingy is AR mixed with sim golf. Lets see what the next generation of VR GOLF will be like 😊🙏

The Golf Club VR is a abandonware from 2017 which only worked with the old HTC Vive. Why would you suggest anyone waste time on it? Golf+ is the only active VR golf game.

@@RolandDobbins Hey Roland, yeah, unfortunately, it's abandoned, but its realism when played with an HTC Vive compared to Golf+ is far better. Even with a Quest 2, I found TGC VR to be relatively accurate. Golf+ is certainly the more polished golf game and a lot of fun for most VR golfers due to its arcade nature. However, if you want a simulation, there is nothing better than TGC on the market, sadly. Please, if you find anything better, let me know! 🤗

I have been playing Golf+ since I got a Quest 3 about 5 months ago; most of that time with the AMVR "club" attachment. I recently got the DriVR Elite (steel shaft) and while I am learning to like it I do have some complaints. First I do really like its weighting and balance; feels much more realistic than the AMVR. That said, with the "rapid fire" style of golf played in Golf+ (no waiting for others, no walking to the ball, just swing swing swing) I do find myself getting fatigued with the extra weight of the DriVR Elite (steel shaft). Since it is a "shorty" club you cannot rest it on the ground while others you are playing with take their shots; you support all of the weight for the entire round and that adds to the fatigue. I ended up removing all of the weight from the bottom for the time being to allow myself to acclimate to this heavier "club". My most serious complaint is with the controller placement on the DriVR Elite "club". In order to access buttons you have to rotate the club 180 degrees and then hold it in an awkward position. With the controller being between me and the shaft I find that the Quest cannot always track the controller (or track it well). I am whiffing a lot with the DriVR Elite where I rarely whiffed with the AMVR. All of that said my muscle memory for accessing the controller's buttons is increasing and I do really like that it feels more like a real club than the AMVR. If you fatigue easily or have limited ceiling height the shorter/lighter AMVR might be a better choice (or the lighter graphite DriVR elite). If you are upgrading from a different club to the DriVR Elite expect your game to suffer for a bit while you get used to it; after several days of use I am back to my normal scores, well mostly ;) BTW the Apple Vision Pro does not have a realistic golf simulator available for it and is really a different class of device than the Quest. Its graphics are far far better but lacks the games that the Quest has.

Great review and input Greg! I agree with many of the things you stated. I would also like to see a competitor on the Apple Vision Pro but we'll see what they come out with in the future. I wouldn't mind a full length club either if they could get the weight down as yes the club does get very heavy pretty quick!

What he doesn't show in the video much but what I like to do is hold the handle up and rest it on your shoulder as you would a normal club. Then you can actually aim your pointer and select things from an upside down angle on the buttons, which actually works very well.

I have only had the DriVR Elite for four days and am already having an easier time finding the controller/buttons and am thinking that I am hitting the ball more accurately/consistently than with the AMVR. Overall I am liking it a a lot - feels much more realistic. I really like putting with it - way more realistic.

This is a good game that is flawed. Correctly positioning your feet in real golf is critical to a good shot. unfortunately this game does not show your feet so you just have to guess if you're feet are correctly postioned. You can hit a perfect shot but if you guessed wrong about your feet postion it will be a bad shot. This is something you have no control over. it's still a fun game worth playing if only for the exercise but it could be a great game if the devs fix this flaw.

I think its a good start. If we could get a true sim experience in VR that would be phenomenal. I think within the next few years it could be something we easily see come into play.

i’ve been lining my heels up against a cue i have behind me and i recenter so i always know relative where i am. agree tho use the cameras to show feet would be insane

I just got the Quest 3 and everything is blurry,I look down the fairway and it’s looking at far away eye chart. I’ve tried all the obvious things but still blurry. Yours looks very clear, what adjustments have you made if any?

Nah. Didn't feel like it. I always go through my first video process as if it is my first time testing it out which is honest and raw feedback and also so I can experience some of the same things the everyday consumer would face as well. But thanks for your thoughts either way!!
