Yup. A magician only reveals tricks once they've been overdone and cracked by every other magician. If it's a good one and their own new creation they milk it for a bit and then "release" it for the small fee of $99 or whatever.

I was trying to hide a flattened out empty deck under the real deck.. then kinda shifting the empty deck under the real deck to kinda get it to pop back into its normal shape.. i could kinda get it to work.. but it looks shit.. For the trick with the card passing through the phone, I think I figured it out. The phone gimmick slides apart to open a slit in the middle, and the magician can slide a card through it. This mechanism is covered up by the case. When he taps the case on the table, it closes the slit, and he can take it out of the case, where it looks like a solid object. Note how the lines of the phone object run the same direction as the slit, making it easy to hide a seam.

8:18 Some 3x3x3 puzzle cubes have caps at their centers, so he could have took the signed cap from one cube and slipped it onto a prepared cube in a jar. Thats just my guess tho.

the signed square is on the side of the jar tho not at the top where the opening is and there's not enough space for the cube to turn in the jar so I don't think that's quite what happened there

Just a guess on the rubix cube trick: The cube starts in the jar in the bag (well mostly). First a magicians choice. Then he puts a shell cube in the bag. Then he gets the volunteer to sign the CENTRE of the cube. When in the bag, the centre is released, and stuck into the (near complete) cube that is in the jar. The rest of the signed cube in placed in the shell, removed and disposed of.

I lived 15 Miles from Blackpool in my youth , It is great in summer. How many needles are there in Vegas backstreets ? Didn't know about this convention, I just used to go dancing . Sunday afternoon full disco hits under the tower. Great. (30 years ago)

Like many British coastal towns, Blackpool is an odd mix of counter-cultures, seaside vaudeville, and very (very) seedy criminality. It's really bloody grim. But also quite interesting. I had no idea they held magic conventions there, but it makes as much sense as the high crime rate. Plus the mix of snazzy magicians and rainy old Blackpool is too funny.

Rubik's Cube: He solved it one-handed as he put it in the bag and took out the pre-solved one. If you watch expert solvers, they can do this easily and quickly especially if they know all of the twists beforehand like this guy does. Still a good trick, though.

@@garrettgarcia2592 I think the opening in the jar is too small for the cube. Watch after the trick, they remove the lid and shake the jar, the cube cannot fit through the opening. Has to be inserted differently.
