Is this the Jewel in the Crown?

This turned out really nice, not top drawer, but tasted good, I wouldn’t call it the Jewel in the crown but it was up there, £1.49 from Aldi, yes I would have it again, I originally gave it 7/10 but after eating the whole meal decided to change it to 8/10.

Fresh coriander and a bit of lime juice really elevates the flavour, I can't recommend enough that you buy them next time!

Bish, bash, bosh...simple as, Andy👨‍🍳! Shame about the fresh coriander, we like it that much we put it in salads👍. I use coconut milk and coconut cream a lot in curries, it just seems to pull everything together like a splash of milk in a homemade tomato sauce. Need to get to Aldi! Nice one, pal👏

Nice convenient meal. I hope you had a Naan or Rhoti somewhere in the background to soak up that sauce. I'd have a dollop of Mango Chutney aswell. Like what you did with the wooden spoon . The way you placed it in the hole of the pot handle . Never seen that before. I use that hole for hanging the pot from a hook. Nice video.

Had these for years from co,op , all of there products are top notch,, proper sauces a hundred times better than any jar currys. Glad you found them! I'm sure everyone watching who trys them will be very impressed!!!. Great video!

They are very nice, better than any jar ive tried, I reckon because there is no acidity regulator, that gives a sauce a vinegary aftertaste.

Great video as always Andy, love my curries! Can you do a review on sausages? Me and my fiancé tried these amazing sausages from M&S called Posh Dogs and you get 6 in a pack, probably the best sausages ive tasted!

These are ok if you can't cook a curry for toffees.( usually full of preservatives)...a curry is so so simple to cook just check out all the really easy curries You can cook on You tube there are Hundreds of them.. the thing is you still need to cook the Curry/Chicken Rice etc etc So you Might as well Learn to cook a Proper Curry.. You are Nearly there ! Sorry people i am just trying to help ok 1.49 plus The Rice ? plus the Chicken? plus the time... and I should know I am after all Indian....No offence Big man Just came across you Video by accident.

I buy them from Morrisons 2 for £3. They are really nice, I have tried three flavours, butter chicken, korma, and a hotter one that I can't remember the name of. You missed the fact that they are made in India.

I wouldn't add coriander because it tastes like soap! Horrid stuff., I grew a load of it years back - most went into the compost bin.

Apparently some folks have "coriander gene" that makes it taste like soap or petrol. I eat it straight off the stalk and it tastes like ginger and orange to me.

Both Aldi and Lidl do the same pilau rice for around the same price. I have either of them every weekend for my home made curry and they are nice. That sauce looks well do able and at a good price. Coriander, I used to use it fresh in the curry but never rated it much and I thought that it had a slight plasticine taste to it. Best packet pilau rice that I have had is the Tilda. Beats uncle benski beat rice, which has become well expensive now.

Forget all those shop bought Pilau Rice, they are rubbish! Go to the YT Channel of the Bengali Cook and make his recipe of BIR yellow Pilau Rice it is as good as any restaurant and easy to cook. I have found his method foolproof!

Other sauces avaliable in Asda...I discovered this brand during lockdown...the bhuna is out of this world..I threw in some onion and half a tin of chopped tomatoes...best sauces on the market..iv got 2 bhuna in my cupboard.🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

I brought 2 last week and froze them as I eat 1 per week on a Sunday. I wasn't that sure with this one as had a taste tester but I did add a fair bit to it. Lime pickles, Corriander, cumin, little garam masala, chillis etc to make it taste more madras but possibly screwed it up by overdoing it with the lime pickle so not so much looking forward to it tomorrow but will see

I always feel these packet sauces need a teaspoon or three of sugar to take away the 'packet preservatives' that will obviously be needed for longevity on the shelves... I tried the Home Bargains Vindaloo you reviewed earlier...it was very bitter and needed deffo the sugar!

@@fatandy as for the fresh coriander, just buy the packets of fresh coriander (the 75p packets) put straight in the freezer (dont open) then when they are frozen crush the packet to make into bits. Then when you need coriander just sprinkle the frozen bits and they defost in seconds.
