As a Chef specialising in BIR Indian cuisine, I signed up for and ordered an ASDA delivery just to try out the featured product after viewing the vid and reading the comments. Although the offering is not what you'd expect from your typical Indian restaurant, I was delighted to find that the Beef Madras is every bit as good as described - very fresh and vibrant, great flavour and with a generous amount of lean beef. The rice is also very good, so definitely the best shop bought curry I've ever tasted by a distance (even better with a couple of green chillies and a cold lager!). And just a note on the portion size - it says 'Serves 2' but its really a generous single portion! Big thanks to the Bald Foodie Guy for posting this👍😀

....an award winning Chef as well !😮 Obviously the vast majority of supermarket ready meals are to be avoided like the plague, but this is the exception. In the context of this sector it's really refreshing to find a product that isn't ultra-processed, is made from fresh ingredients and doesn't contain artificial colours, flavourings and hydrogenated fat.🙂 @@PianomanMusic96

What those figures are saying is that 98% of the 22% is British Beef Brisket. So that means 98% of 88grms of the meal in meat. Basically you get 86gms of meat out of 400gms of food.

Microwave cooking doesn't materially degrade nutrients, probably it is less damaging to these than oven cooking. This is because the microwaves merely cause the water molecules to vibrate and thus heat up. Also the heating time is so much shorter and so degrade the nutrients less than longer cooking times would do.

My favourite Bom Bahia (so far) is the Chicken Biryani - it’s very, very good. Previous favourite was Waitrose’s Hot Chicken Tikka Masala which was unmatched among supermarket curries - creamy rich and spicy with a HUGE flavour. Unfortunately (like M&S) Waitrose curries shrunk by a third while rising in price in 2023. Worst of all, the recipe has changed into something thin and bland with tough chicken pieces. Unrecognisable. Thank goodness for this Asda range!

Just had it. Top quality and fiery. Good value for money. Thanks for the vid. Will try more from the range. Meal for two was enough for two with the potatoes and a naan.

Agree - I've tried the entire range, apart from those that contain seafood, which I'm not fond of. All superb. The portion sizes, when it says 'serves 2', only apply if you're having starter, main course and sides - just curry and rice, it serves 1 in my opinion.

Asda have always been the best for curries, I've tried them all, Tescos a fair second, M&S the poorest, I've been making my own for more than 50 years, long before you could buy the spices. I eat curry almost every day, so thanks for the review, a good honest opinion and well presented.

Decent ingredients. I do love fresh fried curry leaves. There are certain home-made curries I make for which fresh curry leaves are a must. Rare to see them in a ready meal.

Completely agree been eating them for a while, only bad bit too many leaves, mind I don't think it's Madras hot myself, old discontinued Beef Madras was hotter and cheaper, you can still get tins but doesn't taste as good.

This Indian range is really good, I think the "House of Yum" range came out at the same time, it's the Chinese option which is also decent and is the same price which is now a fiver as they have snuck it up 50p just recently.
