I took my teenage daughter to Vegas several times. My old battle axe of a mother flipped out about it. She rambled on and I kept saying "not your business". This went on for a while and looking back it was quite funny.

I swore up and down I wouldn’t take my kids til they were 21. So last year my oldest son turned 21 and I couldn’t leave my 17 year old boy home , I felt horrible about it so I took him too. I’m so glad I did , he loved it . They both did and as a matter of fact I did too because I spent more time doing other things then gambling . They both can’t wait to go back .

Hey Sir Jordan ! I concur with your opinion. I’m not a fan of kids (especially little kids) in Vegas. I definitely stay in the high end resorts aka Aria / Bellagio or Wynn which typically don’t have many families with kids staying . Your son however seemed very respectful and chill so props to you on that . I’m not totally against it but just prefer to be around adults in Vegas. Great video and info as always 😎😎😎

Ok, I was one of those "Vegas is the Adult Disneyworld" guys. That said, my brother has always taken his girls to Vegas and they LOVED it! He'd always rent a car, they'd stay @ the Golden Nugget and enjoy the extreme shark pool. They'd go to Adventuredome and enjoy the midways @ both Circus Circus & Excalibur, the aquarium @ Silverton, & the afternoon show @ the Orleans. They'd have the steak special @ Ellis Island and finish with the Lake of Dreams show @ Wynn or the Fall of Atlantis show @ Caesars Palace. So my opinion: Don't have one. To each his own. Viva Las Vegas!!!!🎰

Vegas is definitely more fun without kids, but when we brought the kids - it generally worked out. We stayed a roomier hotels like encore and vdara, so it was comfortable. Before we got a pool at home, kids really looked forward to the epic strip pools and hot weather. My kids are elementary age, and they like the huge buildings, arcades, and shopping. They like the dining variety but of course we can’t do fine dining with the kids. Next time I’d like to try meow wolf, sphere, and maybe a show.

My kids are both elementary school aged and we are right in that sweet spot where they think Vegas is awesome and still like hanging with me: the magic shows, family comedy shows, arcades, buffets, tourist traps like M&M World World and Hershey’s, and pools are all right up their alley. I can see it being lame for teenagers with their parents. So I’m going to enjoy it now with them until they hit the teenage years, pause for a bit, then reignite the fun when they’re each 21.

Was taken to Vegas in 2003 when I was 12. We stayed at Circus Circus 🎪 Had a blast then, and the strip was very memorizing. Definitely concreted my love for Las Vegas! But prior I was excited for the city from watching Vegas Vacation as a kid. But obviously, Las Vegas as an adult is way better haha

I first went to Vegas when I was in middle school (spring break of 7th grade) & really enjoyed it especially going to the top of STRAT & seeing all of casino lights at night on the Strip even though I couldn't gamble. I will say that Vegas provides a much more affordable family vacation than going to Disneyland or Disney World (which has become virtually unaffordable nowadays) provided you stick to the kid friendly attractions & resorts like Excalibur, NY-NY, Circus Circus & the Venetian. I do agree with Jordan that Fremont Street is a no go zone for kids & should absolutely be avoided if you are travelling with kids.

We’ve been going to LV for over 30 years. In the 90’s LV did try to make it more family friendly. MGM even built a small outdoor amusement park. I always picked Flamingo & Monte Carlo (now Park MGM) for the pools, wave pool, & lazy river. Once they became teenagers they opted not to come along. Great video.

We took our son when he was 18 and he wanted to go see the body building contest back in October. He didn't really like Vegas either, but at least he was an adult so we didn't have to be with him every minute and we had two separate rooms. He did really like the body building show, so overall it was worth it but he doesn't have much desire to go back. We'll be back in April without him!

My teenager has been to Vegas three times and we'll probably do it again. First trip was for our college football team playing at UNLV and we stayed at Cosmo. Our Vegas trips are tame compared to most people - lots of pool time, good dining, and sports. This trip worked well for her and she has traveled more than your average teenager, so there was nothing shocking we encountered. Other trips were for VGK home games and we stayed at Wynn both trips. Again, lots of pool time with good food and hockey to top it off. Nothing like taking a 15yo to Charlie's on a Saturday night to watch your college football team and grab a bite to eat. I'll never take her to Fremont Street; that seems too much. It can be done, but it has to be done right. Your kid has to be right for handling it and not be overwhelmed by some of the items you can see. It can be a good "stay in school" moment.

It WAS MUCH. better in the late 90’s to late ‘00’s…thankfully, that was EXACTLY WHEN my kids WERE ACTUALLY KIDS! They are now 26 and 30 but we went ALL THE TIME between 2001 and 2007 when they were between 3 and 9 and 7 and 13 and most of the family friendly attractions were still open😊

Love it. No kids in Vegas. Ours is 26 and we did take him last year. Being 26 we did go downtown and was able to have a more adult experience, but it was still different, even being able to go to a game while he explored the strip on his own. Vegas is great for couples or a group of friends.

There are two types of families with children that vacation in Las Vegas: families that plan their vacation so the trip is enjoyable for everyone in the family, and parents that plan their vacation so they can enjoy themselves while the kids are occupied with their phones, arcades or just left to their own devices. Family trips to Las Vegas should be planned around activities for the kids and all ages events. If the parents want to gamble, pay up for a sitter for 2 - 3 hours or take turns with the kids while the other gambles. Ideally, they should rent a car and stay off-Strip. Red Rock Station is a good choice because of the on-site pool, movie theaters and nearby Summerlin shopping. AAA baseball and the Golden Knights practice facility are also within walking distance of the hotel. Venetian wouldn’t be a bad choice for a family with older children on the Strip because of the room and the Grand Canal shops on site, plus the Fashion Show Mall just across the way. Otherwise, families that love staying at the pool most of the day should consider staying at Mandalay Bay: it’s close enough to Excalibur and NY-NY that it’s an easy jaunt to their arcades.

I’ve thought about ways I could bring my kids to Vegas, but the older one has younger kids so she’ll need a babysitter. I can’t imagine talking them to the restaurants I would want to take them to with young kids, I don’t even think they have high chairs so that’s a big clue right there. I can see older teens, but if they don’t feel like going with their parents, they aren’t going to like it. On the flip side, I don’t think it’s for seniors either. On trip advisor it’s full of people who take grandma. One had a few choice words about taking their 98 year old grandma to the Linq. I think people get in trouble taking the family to the Linq because it’s cheap, but kids can’t even use the pool. Vegas is not for kids, but I see them everywhere, even late at night on Fremont and I wonder how their trip is going. I heard one influencer say that if you’re going to Vegas with kids, you pretty much have to make it all about them, don’t expect an adult’s vacation. Thanks for the video, very well done. I don’t like it, but I never know why so I don’t judge. I’m moving to the strip into a smaller apt so I see putting my kids who have their own kids up in one of the hotels, I wouldn’t want someone to judge me.

Really enjoyed this video. We are team no kids in Vegas. I believe families can have fun in Vegas, especially during pool season. That said, I will never understand the parents I see pushing new borns around in double strollers at midnight on the strip. The parents doing this look pretty miserable, to be honest. We like to go to Vegas to entertain ourselves, not to entertain kids.

Put me in the "no kids" camp! Pedestrian walkways are shrinking, and I'm tired of having strollers jammed into my legs by a parent whose watching the strip sights instead of where they're going! And then there's the cranky crying kids who should be in bed instead of on the street late at night. I have to disagree with casinos being strict about keeping kids out...I've left casinos 3x due to kids running around while mom & dad play & drink. Take the kids to Disney & leave Vegas to adults!

Las Vegas is not for small children! Most family vacations are summer ☀️ when the squids are out of school. I see (mostly) women pushing toddlers or babies in strollers; the kid is hot & fussy. Parent(s) are overheating & miserable. No one is relaxing or having fun! Take my advice- family vacations are Disneyland, the beach or trips to see their cousins. Vegas is a sanity break for adults!

Key is age of child, methinks. I really can't see bring a single digit aged kid to Vegas, frankly. I see so many strollers, and it just doesn't make sense. My local casinos actually don't let anyone under 21 set foot. I remember playing in AC and children running around, not pleasant. Circus Circus obviously caters to youth, and Excalibur somewhat. But, I agree with you, Vegas is not for kids. I imagine you'll have close to a 50/50 split on this one!

Vegas isn't for bringing kids, it's for making kids. 😁 But seriously, while there are certainly attractions that are family friendly, I wouldn't want to even walk down the strip with my kids. Partially due to the CONSTANT pot smoke. I definitely wouldn't bring them to Fremont.
