It's true that charity shops don't put everything on the shop floor - especially if the clothes have a small mark etc so swapping is much better. Small marks or tears are easily fixed but won't be sold.

I loved this idea! I wouldn't even think of clothes swap as an option! Tried to begin this fashion sustainability journey on my channel too!

A great idea, but I think I'll stick to buying and donating to thrift stores.

Absolutely love this! If I was in UK this would be my go to for all my clothing! There is something about loved and worn clothing. As a teen I adored cheesecloth type tops and they took forever to wear and wash until they looked exactly how they should be! LOL

We do a clothes swap every few months with my sorority group. It is such a great way to give clothes that a still nice, but maybe not your style anymore a new home! 😊👌
@ArtieCarden4 жыл бұрын
okay but a clothes swap i went to it was literally white women throwing in their really gross low quality clothes so they could get something newer, more expensive and better quality. there needs to be a quality check because i gave up some nice pieces to get nothing because it was honestly all crap.

I would think you could start one with friends or family at first. See if it catches on. Someone with the right time and opportunities might run with it.

Actually I find local cloth swaps on local Facebook pages, As well as local swap groups for winter sports items like ski's, snowboards, clothing. And summer items like kayaks, tents, backpacking gear.

We ALL get bored with our old clothes? What an ignorant statement. Those who adhere to the Audrey Hepburn method will own classic clothes that never go out of style and only need to be replaced when they wear out. And in my area of California we have 8 awesome thrift shops from Hospice to Jr League to Cancer Society to Goodwill, Salvation Army where i can get awesome items for so little that are in mint condition. Some of us also adhere to the Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk style of owning multiple items that are all the same, much like a uniform, so like when in boarding school one doesn't fret about what to wear when we get up in the morning and head off to work. We also have local clothes swap groups on Facebook as well as local swap groups for winter sports items like skis, snowboards and summer swaps for kayaks, tents, backpacking items.
