Hey Adam. Great tip about bringing an empty pallet to the store - although that requires foresight and planning. So as a professional procrastinator, that goes against my nature.

Great video. A couple of pro tips that you may or may not know. Drill a hole at the tip of one fork big enough to attach a ball hitch for moving trailers around the yard. Easier to maneuver a trailer driving than backing up. Second, tilt the tips of the forks while in the air down about 10-20 degrees to slide forks closer or further apart. Doing so takes the weight off the bottom of the fork where it meets the fork frame. Looking forward to the next video already.

I know that at home people do things that OSHA won't like but there is a reason for many of their rules. One company I worked at put a hole in the fork and OSHA made the company replace the fork as they said it weakened the fork. There are units that slide on the forks that have a receiver to move trailers and there are also 3 point mounts that have a receiver to move trailers.

Nice video. A tip though is those pallets are much stronger if lifted from the other sides. The forks are meant to go under the cut outs in the main heavy cross members.

Totally agree. I purchased my Land Pride Pallet Forks with my new tractor this week and already put them to good use. So very handy and that quick attach system was a must as well. The box grader is next on the list.

Absolutely. I don't have your frame and I find the quick-attach wonderful. For the freezes here in Florida I was able to move pallets of plants under shelter easily; can pick up deliveries or stuff from the hardware store and move to the back forty, love my pallet forks!

The chain hooks on the clamp ons are to stabilize your forks so when you lift it doesnt bend the bucket lip. You run the chain over the top and put chain binders on it.
@STANISHR99

One point, you lifting capacity depends somewhat on your engine rpm which affects the hydraulic pressure. This is demonstrated when you’re getting a bucket load of material off a pile, more engine power makes a difference in more pushing and more lifting capacity Have an HST powered drive tractor and power is essential in getting up hills in certain gears.

I agree that forks are one of the BEST labor saving attachments for a tractor. I'm a bit older than you and if I have to move something once, I move it to a pallet so I have to touch it as little as possible. One other benefit to the QA forks they are at the size you used them last. I keep mine at one size and if a pallet is too small for that I cut it up and give it to my neighbors that heat with wood. As you said a QA is a great attachment on a tractor, the only thing better is one on the back as well.

I’ve been using the clamp on this past week moving tree trunks. Been a life saver but like demonstrated, on soft ground the back will snag. Would be nice if the back would slanted up and closed off. Your pros and cons are spot on.

Heya from down under Haxman . Been watching ur channel from the west coast of oz. I’ve just bought a low hours b2601 as well .Just wondered how happy you are with yours? I’ve bought 3 acres that needs a lot of work to get it back to scratch so I’m hoping it’s up to the task. Loving all the projects you’ve done and the fact that you own it when things don’t go to plan. Also how you get the kids involved to. It’s so important these days. I also like working with raw and dated timber so I appreciated the mantle piece you surprised your wife with . Stay safe mate and look forward to more of your adventures. 🦘

Hey Adam, I'm sure you have seen some other youtuber videos on using IBC totes for firewood. I know in FL that isn't as much of a concern and I believe you had a gas insert on your fireplace mantle video. But getting one or two would be a nice way to store some fire wood for your fire pit and those pallet forks would make hauling wood to the fire less back breaking. My B2601 can lift one about 3/4 of the way full with a box blade on the back for ballast. Awesome video as always.
