Since your reveiw, the D8 now has added topology and can graph 6 pids at a time and I've seen it go for under five hundred now for the wired version. It's an incredible value these days; even more than it was before. They do have bt (bluetooth) and wifi/ WLAN versions now, but they cost quite a bit more.

Hi! Initially, I was going to get the D7 scan tool after checking out one of your videos, but I got this D8 instead. I don't regret this at all, as this is an awesome tool for my needs. I don't have a shop, I just have a couple of vehicles of my own, but I also help my friends out with their vehicles too. I've only had this for two months, but I think I made a good choice. Your videos have been very helpful for me as I'm trying to learn everything I can about how to use this tool to its maximum potential. For example: I just helped a friend at work diagnose his Honda Insight rocker arm solenoid issue on the "B" side of his engine. Hopefully, I saved him some cash from taking his car to a shop to get the problem diagnosed and repaired. A $50 part and a little elbow grease and he's good to go. If needed, I'll erase his trouble codes after he installs it. I never thought I'd own something like this, but now that I do, I'm asking myself; why did I wait so long? Thank you for your reviews, and X-Tool is pretty awsome to make something like this for a hobbyist like me. By the way, I am going to order the extension cable and endoscope for this D8. The cable is limiting because of its length. And the endoscope will help me look into my combustion chambers and piston bores to inspect the condition of them. It will also come in handy to inspect the throttle body and intake passages to see if I need to take that apart and clean it out. That's just the beginning of what I'm thinking of using it for.

Cool. I have the XTool A30D and it works great on my 2006 Matrix. Just did an actuation test on the fuel pump and vent valve. Can't be beat for around $130 w/ free lifetime updates.

i heard the xtool a30m is a bluetooth version on this and only costs $200 as most the cost goes into the pad.that would ake the a30 perfect for diy in for the price probably the best,thinkdiag is just as good and probably a little better but a huge problem is thinkdiag has you buy yearly subscriptions for each make where xtool is free for all

Great video. Does the D8 support I/M readiness monitors for any car? I can't find it anywhere for a 2015 2.4 Kia Sorento. Trying to get an informed answer from their tech support is very frustrating. Any direction to find this feature (if it exists) is very much appreciated.

I all most bought the D8BT cause it says it does ecm coding witch is putting the vin numbers in used and new ecm’s. I went a head and bought the D9 Pro just because I wanted to be able to do ECM coding & ECM programming. Cause I need to replace 2 different dodge ecm’s hopefully it does what it says it will do.. Won’t know until next week if it’s as good as some of the other reviews have said.. That and I need to make a few keys as well.. Witch I bought a key cutter so I could cut my own keys for adding extra keys.. The D9Pro is BT and Wired obd..Fingers crossed..

The bluetooth model is out. I bought it. Do not get the wired version. SO much nicer than having a stupid cable around your feet if you’re trying to scan while driving. Plus i don’t need to be in the vehicle to work with the scanner.

The problem with this product is that most of the functions only work on some makes and models. Autel makes a much better product that covers all systems on most makes and models. Before you buy, make sure you get the one that fits all of your needs or you will waste your money.

Permanently? No, you can activate the fan but it will not save the parameters. You wil need custom work for that but if you find something let me know. Why do you want the fan to turn over on earlier or stay running?

how is the throttle relearn works on old cars. i recently got cheaper version A30M similar to D7 to relearn my Idle air control after i replace it, I can't get to relearn without obd tools on pathfinder 2001. i didn't receive the tool yet. but I noticed the special functions are different between D8 and D7 even if the titles are the same when going to specific function like throttle relearn you will get more options like IAC relearn that is extra on D8. do you know if d7 or A30M could do it as well as D8 or no luck for me?

My D8BT-001830 has no option for a 2007 Dodge Sprinter (NOR DOES IT HAVE AN OPTION FOR ANY SPRINTER). Also, It will not find it in Autoscan or Manual. (It does work fine on my 2010 Chrysler Town and Country). Is there an update that adds my vehicle? I specifically bought this xtool because it is advertised as the best Sprinter scanner. Apparently, it is not.

For that most of the time your need to send it a service on eBay for example. I’ve had to do this for honda and ford. But I have not tried to clear crash data with this scan tool but I think it involves a bit more than just clearing data. Let me know if I am wrong. I just received my D8. I was very excited but things took a bad turn. After completing all the downloads I connected it to my 2002 grand caravan. IT COULD NOT communicate with the PCM. It gives me a message of "Received an invald response". It did however communicate with the TCM. My little bluedriver does communicate with the PCM. I contacted technical support and they have not answered or responded to me on this issue. So far this thing is useless to me and frustrating. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I think the reason your VIN scanner didn't work was because it's looking for the sticker on the door jamb that has a barcode (driver's side). Scan that and I bet it'll pick up the VIN.

It didn't work. Still a good tool, just needs for development which is happening every time I use because it's always getting updated.

@@dr.peppertruck1817 No. I’ve tired the Resetting process and even bought a used plug and play TCM off EBay. At first it does good and I feel like I fixed it but once the ECM relearns everything it goes back to before. U0101 is stored and won’t erase.

I think the xtool is a great device for what it’s capable of based off the financial commitment. However, their customer service isn’t very good and is in China. The updating process isn’t great and in my experience has missing code in some of the updates rendering the tool useless until you find a patch. Which takes you through customer service. If you’re a DIY’er this device is beyond capable and might be worth the headaches when it’s your own car. If you’re professional mechanic, this device will keep you busy trying to fix it and prevent you from turning over customers.

you can still use it, just won't get updates going forward after that.

Yes but you don't need to update to use it. I would update before it expires and you can still use you just won't get the newest update which is often okay unless you are working a brand spanking new cars.
