This is the earliest I've ever been to a video. Glad to be here. I have an 8 wt and 10 wt, mostly use the 8 wt and a big fan

I wanted to order this from my local fly shop. They tried to convince me that this rod was for Spey casting. I pretty much walked out afterwards. I will just order from Mad River Outfitters.

Thanks for the support. Apparently quite a few shops don’t understand what this rod is all about. We’ll be happy to send you one.

Thanks for this video! The extended butt section of the rod (as in the Esox rod) not only gives you power and stability but also takes a lot of pull and weight off of your wrist. It makes casting much more convenient and gets you through the day longer. Another game changer again! I just ordered my BC Big Fly and cannot wait to see and feel the improvements to the Esox.

I will be buying the 8wt or the 8wt and the 10wt of these eventually even though we don't have Pike here in Texas. It's just too cool of a rod and could be useful for Bass and sinking lines. Plus I still have dreams of making it back up to Minnesota to chase Pike in the future.

@@Madriveroutfitters I've been looking at getting an Axiom II 7wt too and noticed the sale, so the BC Big Fly will have to wait a few months 🤑

My grandpa's rod.. actually let me start from the beginning. My grandpa built a rod back in the '30s or '40s. I have it now but it needs some repairs. It's a beautiful rod and I think it's made from Birch. Where would I send it to get repaired because I don't trust myself enough to do it on my own. It's a beautiful rod and it should be repaired and restored.

So, would this be a good Tarpon rod, ie it was mentioned that is a fast action rod and (typically) poon flies a much, much smaller than musky flies. Does it still load well under these “lighter” conditions?

I just picked up one of these in a 10wt. What line do folks recommend for them? I’m in Australia and I’ll be using it for big barramundi
