I own Suzukis and have never had a bad experience with them. You get a huge "bang for the buck" with Suzuki, in reliability, performance and fun. Nicest gearboxes on the road, and I think in the last 15 years they have REALLY lifted their game in the handling department. I still have my 2022 Hayabusa and it is like riding a cloud. A very fast cloud lol 👍😎

It sounds like you have already made up your mind, so you don't need any of us telling you what makes you happy. In my experience if someone is already thinking about change then it's probably going to happen. No good being miserable because of what other people tell you what to do. 'You Do You' and what makes you happy. Congrats in advance on the new purchase.

Most girls go out and impulse buy shoes or handbags, not our Kate, she goes out and comes back with a new bike !! Seriously though, Kate, go with your gut instincts and buy it. It looks ace from this angle, a nice upright position, has road presence, sounds great too. If it ticks the boxes, you go, girl. Look forward to seeing the video of you showing it off to us.

I have always been a Suzuki fan when it comes to Japanese bikes, and I also know that you also have a soft spot for them as well (i've already mentioned that on one of your other videos). So if you wanna change then do it... we both know that one can't go wrong with these 800's and if it makes you happy, and gives you content for the channel, then go get one now. I'm certainly on your side if you do change! But as far as I know, at least here in Switzerland, the 800S only come in Silver Blue and Yellow, and your favourite colour is Black! I could somehow imagine you on a Blue one, but certainly not on Yellow, so that leaves the Silver/Grey, which is the one i'd have. Now you've got me anxciously waiting for the result of your choice.... change or not, and if so, which colour!

Confidence is everything Kate, if you're happy and confident on a bike , that's the most important thing, I've always said, better to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow, much more fun. Just do you, and don't worry about it. 👍 , every good rider eventually has that Erika moment when you realised you don't need 150 + hp to have fun, and most of us can't use it anyway if we are honest.

There’s a lot to be said for a bike you feel comfortable on, and that might not be the type of bike that you ‘picture’ yourself on. I’ve had sports bikes since I was in my late teens (now 37) and with the state of the roads/traffic, I found myself falling out of love with motorcycling. But I’ve started looking at Enfields, and they seem to be much more suited to where I am in my life. It’s all about what makes you comfortable/happy! Your comment about smaller bikes made me think back to the 125 2 strokes of the early 00’s. You could really get a shuffle on with an Aprilia RS!
@chrishart85483 ай бұрын
With a de restricted 125 2 stroke along with its light weight. you could be an absolute hooligan on the road. They got to 70mph going up through the power band in the blink of an eye.

Sounds like a decent plan. I've just built (well, mostly paid for someone else to build) a race-bike from a GSX-8R for the BSB Sportbike class. It's not been out in a race yet, but we think it's a pretty decent base for track bike.
@seansixfive2 ай бұрын
With your Street Triple background it comes as no surprise that you find the 8R to be like home base. I couldn’t do your job, I’d be in a permanent state of Hedonic Adaptation. Always looking at what I dont have and losing sight of what I do have. Team 8R💪

Buy and do what makes you happy, Kate, but to me it all sounds like a good idea. It's nice to have followed your story so far and for you to share with your subscribers you making the decision you're pondering. I'm really liking the look of the GSX-8R myself and all the reviews I've seen so far, including both of yours obviously, rate it quite highly. I'm going to test ride one myself in the near future as I'm hopefully going to be in the market for a new bike by mid-next year. I've been riding for 5 years only and am still on my first big bike, a 2009 FZ6 Fazer S2, that I absolutely love and has been, and continues to be, a great bike to be getting road experience on. I thought I wanted to step up to a 1000cc (or thereabouts) bike and have test ridden a few (Ninja 1000SX, GSX-S1000GT, NT1100, AT, Versys 1000, Tracer 9GT), but am realising that the power in my Fazer is really enough for me to get the enjoyment I require, so maybe something between a 600 and a 1000cc bike is where I need to be (not the Tenere 700 - test rode one of those too but it didn't make the grade). Plus I'm loving that silver and red combo of the 8R in your video, because it reminds me of my silver Fazer! Keep on keeping on, Kate, your videos are great to watch.

That wheelie pic at 0:51 is epic! The 750 was great on track, but I think the 8S and 8R will become iconic over time in their own right. Happy riding!

When you speak with Suzuki again, can you please ask them if a GSX 4R is coming? I like the design but do not need an eight hundred cc bike and a 125 is too small. Suzuki have a large gap in their line up that could be filled with a GSX 4R.

I've owned my gsx8r since March and as a sports bike for the road it's awesome! but you can tell it has more to it and it's a great base machine to make into what you want. Clip-ons, rear-sets and track tyres would make it a hoot on track and you can swap them back standard for road riding. Go for it!!!
@anthonystevens86833 ай бұрын
A cracking video Kate. Ride what YOU want not what others want you to ride as you mention it's your money and it's you who'll be riding it. This bike certainly looks like a comfortable and versatile bike that you can have a lot of fun on. I had a GSXR1000K6 (no mode button or ABS) back in the day and loved it to bits but in slow traffic I have to admit it was a pain but it was brilliant beyond words on the twisties, I sold it as it was too addictive to ride with more than a modicum of spirit on the road. Later as a daily I picked up a Yamaha FZ6 S2 naked and it was so much fun on those same roads for a hoon but a lot easier on the rider in the majority of situations and didn't require a new rear tyre every 1200 miles. Anyway, get the bike that you want and enjoy it and if you want to share your experiences with us on the channel that would be great.

Best way to do it is to just go with your heart. Peg scrape and seating can be altered with aftermarket stuff if you do go with it. The Gsxr 750 has a decent market where theyre in high demand. My neighbour has recently bought a GSXR 1000 to replace his old GSXR 1000 😂, both older versions. His old one that doesnt work, he got offered £2,700 for its parts.

In deciding whether to go with the 8R (or anything in life, for that matter), I recommend considering the advice given by the classic Aussie band "The Masters Apprentices" in their hit song, "Because I Love You". I've been having this discussion with myself over the past couple of years as I've downsized the collection and traded a couple. Two of my scooters are going up for sale soon because I don't ride them very often. I'm happier having fewer bikes as crazy as that sounds and my bank account is happier as the insurance and maintenance costs are greatly reduced. I've sold or traded all my sport bikes and don't miss riding any of them. Life goes on and my interests change. So the collection changes too. If the GSX-8R makes you happy and you'll enjoy riding it, sell the track bike that sits neglected in the garage and buy the bike you really want and will get to enjoy far more often.

Verrry interesting. I've subscribed. Long story short (yes this is short lol) I used to have a K6 GSXR750 back in the day so I know how good they are. However, I currently have a GSX8R! It's a great all round package for reasonable money with loads of potential & it belies it's spec sheet. It's quick but not fast & is perfect for the road on the less is more basis. I've put a full Akra system on mine which is a must imo, as is mapping it. (Approx. +10bhp & +10 lbs/ft.) I also put the official Suzuki (Gilles) levers on & of course a tail tidy, (Powerbronze). Removed the heroblobs too for another Cm of ground clearance...that I'll never need on the road lol but peace of mine & all that. Really interested to see how this plays out. I think it's a bold choice & a great one. It's something different that more viewers can relate to imo so I wish you luck & I don't think you'll be disappointed.
