Welcome to my channel! In today’s video, we’re testing whether using a racing wheel is actually faster than a controller in F1 24. As a regular driver, is it worth making the switch? Let's find out!
What We’re Testing:
We’ll be comparing lap times on a controller and a racing wheel, using the same setup and settings to make this as fair as possible. The goal is to see if switching to a wheel can help improve lap times.
Key Points Covered:
Controller Test: We start with several runs on a controller to set a baseline time of 1:19.1 after plenty of practice.
Identifying Weaknesses: We discuss areas where we lose time, including issues with smoothness and sliding in corners.
Switching to the Wheel: After switching to the wheel, we see improvements in entry and exit speeds, smoother turns, and faster lap times.
Results: By lap 10, we improved by over three-tenths of a second-showing noticeable performance gains with the wheel.
Smoothness and Precision: Watch as we dive into how the wheel offers better control, especially in the S curve and apex handling.
My Personal Experience:
It was clear that after just a few laps with the wheel, the smoother handling and improved precision resulted in faster lap times. However, this is my personal experience, and results may vary depending on your racing style and skill level.
Tips for Buying a Wheel:
Sales Opportunities: Consider waiting for sales like Black Friday or Boxing Day to get a wheel at a reduced price.
Start Small: If you’re new to wheels, start with an affordable model (e.g., G29) to see how it feels before upgrading to something more expensive.
