The scale on the Fellow Ode 2 puts Aeropress mostly in the pour over range for grind size, which makes total sense to me. If you were doing an inverted brew I could absolutely imagine going even coarser.

I use a 3D printed WDT tool to simply rake the top to be more even. Now I should try shaking and then raking. It’s funny since I just printed a new portafilter holder for my Niche. 😂

Thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out whether to invest in the Geimori kickstarter for this grinder. Your review sealed it for me. NOPE! Will wait for a sale for the Timemore Sculptor 064S. As always, you rock!

awesome content! One thing you didn't mention that would love to hear your thoughts on is tamping. I'm relatively new and have started with 18g in 36g out and cared less about time, but usually ended up in the 20 second range. I achieved this by grinding very fine and using a dispensing leveler tool with no tamp. Usually get a result I like, but sometimes it's sour. Watching this video confirmed my observations that when I increased the water out to 38ish I got better taste. Generally, what do you recommend for tamping?

Constructive criticism: Music is too loud and it is more difficult to hear your voice over the blasting jazz horns. Just my opinion of course! Otherwise, very informative video, thank you.

That extra handle you added at top center of the machine, can you do that with Diletta Bello+ as well. Also do you know if the Diletta Bello+ has the rubber suspension on the vibratory pump? I'm having a difficult time choosing between Lelit Max and Diletta Bello+ and make 99% lattes. The reason I'm looking is my Breville BES870XL died and I gave it away, replaced with a used Breville Bambino which was a big mistake (steamer not working). I think I'll stay away from Breville due to some plastic parts I saw in the BES870XL that seemed the cause of failure. I'd like something more long lasting and I like a classic look over modern anyway but really I want to be able to make a great latte.

@LanceHedrick what would be the best single boiler espresso machine for home use on the market based on its build quality and service? I know there are many, but if you had to choose one, which would it be? Good luck on your channel and see you in the next video.

Looks like it's taken over by ITOP. And they released a new one HPEM3 which adjusted the piston and chamber. And made it more ugly. But maybe better balance

Are there any quality 54mm burrs on the market that can be installed without the motor reversal mod?

with v4 having wifi, it would be a no-brainer to get this integrated with Home Assistant for morning startup and boiler warming just before I get out of bed.

I have a df54 and the only time it has struggled is with Sawada beans from chicago: extremely dark roast, super oily, and with winter there's low humidity in the air casuing it to clump and effectively choking my grinder. Outside of that it has been a great experience as a daily driver for one espresso a day

Lance Hedrick why you don’t make a video with DF54 vs Eureka Mignon Zero? I think in Europe have a very close price. I am very curious what you have to say. I noticed that there are very few videos with Eureka on KZbin. I think there are a lot of people who are considering a Eureka grinder because of their reliability (I am one of them :) )

My winning recipe this year (my national competition) utilized exactly these tips. 15g ground at setting 15 on a Chestnut X (around 22 clicks on a Comandante I believe) - pretty coarse 220g water at 85C I used the inverted method with ±1min stirring. I let it sit for a total of 2', inverted and pressed for another 45'' or so. This continues to be my go-to recipe for any coffee made on an AP except older coffees. For those, I always use your recipe that you shared in an older video - 30g to 120g water at 80C etc.; Actually this is such a great recipe of yours for the AP that I've shared it with everyone that care :D Cheers and it was a pleasure seeing you at WAC this year!

Brew mode/steam mode description at 11:19 According to Lelit MaraX PL62 extended guide, it is other way around. Position 1 is "Coffee Mode" Position 0 is "Steam Mode" These manuals are vague, but which one is right?

If I already have a Baratza Vario with Ditting steel burrs, is it worth switching over to either a DF54 or DF64?
