Hi everyone! Sorry if I sound a bit potato in this one, I woke up after 4 hours of sleep and decided "yeah, I'll go record real fast before taking a nap". Ended up passing out for 7 hours immediately after... LOL Anyways! It's always interesting to see how new releases impact the existing meta - in the case of Empyrean Anthem, we saw an increase around the board, though compared to Moonlit, the jumps might not look as big as they are, due to Moonlit also getting "buffed" in 2.0. But, this was still a fun little bit to math out regardless! So there's still 4 more new sets... and Carlotta and Roccia... time to get back to cooking! See you guys again real soon ~ "What about 44111?" I totally forgor to include this in the video, but on the Empyrean Anthem + Hecate combo, it's less than 1% worse than 43311 Ele/Ele, so it's a perfectly viable flex set! Also, I thought this part would be obvious, but I feel the need to point it out: the calculations assume that your sub DPS is geared on an equal level as your main DPS, which may or may not be the case. When the sub DPS is lesser geared, the power of the Hecate/Empyrean options goes down proportionally, and the opposite happens if the main DPS is lesser geared.

The best part of this new set is Yuanwu for Jinhsi. He now has a useable set instead of having to resort to the gimmicky 3* gauntlet with healing set before. If you have BP weapon box with nothing to use it for, just get a Stonard for the crit sub-stat, and get as much c.rate on his echo, and now hes a positive damage buffer while stille maintain the near 0 field time as before.

Since 44111 is only 1% worse than 43311, it is actually the most resource-effective. You don't need to farm the 3 costs for different characters and can use the same set of echoes for Yinlin, Zhezhi and Mortefi

Thanks for your hard work Maygi. I've been planning to build an Empyrean Anthem set for my Zhezhi, and you presented both sets well. For the others who are worried about wasting resource/farming crits again, Moonlit still works just fine. But having a second sub DPS echo set can help. Especially since we're getting modes that requires two teams like the Pincer mode.

Reminder that these numbers assume that your sub-DPS and main-DPS have the same level of investment in gear. Under most circumstances, it is more optimal to invest a bigger fraction of your resources to your main DPS, rather than a 50/50 split. Unless you are willing to both get signature weapons, as well as invest a lot into the team in general, to the point where you hit the "ceiling" of both, it is better to still use Moonlit. ("Ceiling", referrering to pretty endgame substats, of roughly having 40% critrate, 80% critdmg, 40% atk and 40% dmg in substats only)

But I do not recommend having the sub-DPS have similar Investments in echoes as the main dps, unless you are already very high in substats, where there won't be too much of a difference anymore (like 4/5 substats)

I Would love to see all the new sets damage performance in this format. Particulary, havoc and spectro rover have respectively 1 new set each which I would love to see in action number-wise. Thanks for the nice breakdown, this probably takes more time to figure out then people realize.

the new spectro set is a flat upgrade for spectro rover. 20% permanent CR (+15%CR from sequence) lets you run CD 4 cost and CD weapon (we only have Changli's sig though, but the skill damage passive synergizes pretty good as well). With the new set I have 54 (+35) CR and 329% CD now and the actual performance is much higher (tested in overdrive tower and holo6) and also eliminates the problem of the old set requiring an intro, so if you're into solo rover hologram clears that's a huge plus. The new Havoc set is obviously a sub dps set, so it would need to be compared to moonlit if running havoc rover in that role. It's definitely not made for havoc rover, but is very specifically made for Roccia, which will be the premiere havoc sub dps and buffer for Camellya (off field grouping and havoc+basic attack outro buff)

Empyrean Anthem is also really good for Yuanwu and Mortefi For Mortefi, since you want to maximize his Coordinated attack as much as possible unlike Zhezhi and Yinlin, Empyrean Anthem is a big buff For Yuanwu, since he wont be doing Outro skills as often and just drop pillars, you can have someone else use Rejuv Set or Moonlit to help Jinhsi

The last numbers are team damage calcs. New sets are worth it unless you have REALLY good moonlit.

@sydorovich2532 in practice it won't make a difference. Toa is determined by how many rotations you need. Built team required 2 rotations, mid team betweem 3-4 rotations. But this new set contribution is so low in practice. Even with Maygi's calculator you're gaining like 4k on whole 2 minutes? What?

The main takeaway for me is having moonlit perma on Sanhua and swappable Anthem between Yinlin/ZheZhi (jn my case!). That’s the only time in ToA i switch around - and I love it! Makes also testing different comps a breeze.

I switch to 4-4-1-1-1. CR and CDMG for my dps the nightmare echoes are just so convenient no need to activate just equip. Although I'm terrible at dodge i can still muscle my way through a fight in Tower of Adversity.

Ok so new set is worth farming if you just freshly got the character and haven't farm moonlit/void thunder. If you already have a godly substat for moonlit/void thunder, you just need to farm the new nightmare echo to upgrade them. No need to waste time re-farming for a new set. Thanks maygi. 👍

This is assuming your sub dps is on the same level as your main dps in terms of sequence, weapon. Lots if people only invest heavily in main dps. Which make older sets way better for sub dps.

Yeah, the way I see it. It’s less of powercreep and more of a case that you have more options. Do you want to invest in Yinlin’s sub-dps personal damage (max her weapon, stats, and skills)? Coordinated attack set. You’re mainly concerned with her buffing capabilities and want to run a low invest buffer? Moonlit clouds with heron since it drives home the idea of buffing your teammate. The former is better (marginally at high invest), but the latter is viable and the option for a lower invest.

Rather than just focus on the numbers calculation, players also have to factor in their playstyle. New set will need to build more crit rate on the holder plus if in any cases swap before able to cast coordinate attacks will result in no buffing the dps at all.

Weird argument when you can make the same for the opposite site "what if you swap before outro/clicking heron". If you are using a coordinated attacker you have coordinated attacks up. If you don't you fucked up or are in the first x seconds of the fight.

Yep! The more your main DPS is invested in, the better Heron becomes, relatively speaking - and the opposite is true too: if you have sequences for your sub DPS, Empyrean becomes better!

Heh, I been using the Frost set for Zhezhi.. I first built her as a DPS to run with Sunhau back in like. 1.4 ? or 1.3 when she released to take one team in ToA. I just havent gotten around to make her a frost moonlit set (sunhau runs it, I do Glaciodamage/energy) So I had her focused on attack for when they were together. But nowdays, Zhezhi is my support to my V6R2 Jinhsi. So I just kept her on her attack set, as my Jinshi as you see is all brute power. Just havent gotten around to building her own frost Moonlit set.. I guess I could look into this new set instaed ?

I'm currently running her with the old glacio set, just switched the 4 cost to a glacio Hecate with good stats. From the calculations it's pretty comparable to the others if slightly worse. Definitely works though so you can do that if you don't want to spend the effort/resources to build the new set.

I thought about going 4-4-1-1 double crit rate or at least getting a disproportionately high amount of crit rate just to make sure the coord attacks will crit and the char field gets the ATK buff, but is going for 1:2 crit ratio while risking the 4-pc ATK buff not proccing actually better? Also I feel like it kinda depends on the equipper, someone like Mortefi deals many more ticks of damage compared to Yinlin, so the former is more likely to proc a crit every 4 seconds even with a lower rate...

Quick question: does this set better than Rejuvinating Glow set on Yuanwu? Like if you alr using Yuanwu as the activator for Rejuv, your team is not getting any heal anyway (Yuanwu self-heal with 3☆ gaunlet so he can activate set) This make him does alot more dmg since he is free from 3☆ weapon and can use 4☆ or 5☆ for the statsticks, while also provide the very same amount of ATK boost from his Coord.

Certain resonators have a special form of attack in their kit that's classified as "coordinated attacks", which are typically hits of damage that happen as a follow-up to the active resonator's attacks - for example, when Zhezhi causes her Liberation, it causes Inklets to attack every second (regardless of whether Zhezhi herself is on the field), as long as you hit the enemy every few seconds~

The exact gain from Moonlit -> Empyrean + Hecate for Mortefi/Jiyan is ~3.8% with Jiyan's sig + Static Mist, so it should be relatively a bit more with both on standard!

A bit of a general question, assuming shorekeeper, how much crit rate is more efficient? 70% after shorekeeper buffs or around 70% before shorekeeper buffs?

The target rate is always 1:2 (subtracting 100% from the crit damage on the stat screen; so for example, with 70% crit, you'll want 240% crit damage on the stat screen), and for your sub DPS specifically, you'll want to take the 12.5% crit from SK into account; the main DPS does NOT need to adjust, as they will receive 12.5% crit and 25% crit damage, which won't affect the balance in a negative way!
