Every year me and many other bucks fans get excited about the idea of marjon, but he just has not progressed. He should be developing his game into a 3 and D player but the defense just isn’t quite where it should be, he makes a lot of bad decisions offensively. And it’s only summer league. Our young guys should be dominating summer league. They are supposed to be rotational pieces that are in their second/third year and we’re getting our ass kicked. Might be time to trade marjon

I am really sad bc for me it is a huge red flag on the Bucks organization. Idk how they wotk with the young core but it’s been 2 years and the fact that MarJon did not improve at all is unexcusable.

Not really an egg all over his face it’s summer league. The way players perform in summer league has no bearing on how good a player will be . Shannon is 23 year’s old and is currently the better player. Aj Johnson is 19 years old and has the higher upside between the two . Regardless of who the bucks drafted with their first round pick that player wouldn’t really see many minutes in the rotation anyway

Y’all do realize Shannon is basically the same age as Marjon. Does common sense escape you. A five year college player SHOULD look more polished than everyone on our roster. (Side note Marjon is a Covid HS kid. His development has been all messed up. Not saying he shouldn’t be better but it makes sense why he looks the way he does. Not to mention the stop and start nature of his pro career so far)

Staying positive because we’re only two games in, but these early results are not inspiring confidence. The only people I would feel comfortable joining our regulars would be our two draft picks and maybe Ajax (although his game doesn’t appear improved either). That’s it. Hoping these guys show me differently, especially the the guards, because there’s a need, & I don’t see us getting Gary Trent Jr. (the latest desired piece to the puzzle).

Tyler Smith hasn't really done much for me so far. The young dudes that I've liked the most in the 2 games are AJ Johnson and Chris Livingston Seems like Ajax has kinda just been getting lost on offense with Marjon, AJ, and Tyty having so much combined usage. Don't really blame Ajax for that tho either

Also, I’m allowing for some accident forgiveness if you’ve just gotten there. The guys who’ve been here for at least a year, not so much.

@@rrsmith30 that's fair about the 2nd thing you said, and I'm with you on that. I didn't realize he's that tall, I thought he was like 6'8 or 6'9. 6'11 then maybe he can become like a left version of Bobby. He seems decent already on D too, so maybe eventually an even better version of Bobby?

What other rookie did Bud have the opportunity to play besides Donte, Justin? KPJ and Hampton picks were traded away. Jordan Nwora got his shot, he just sucked. Donte was the only 1st round pick we kept under his tenure.

I don’t think it’s the development team more than it’s just Marjon isn’t helping himself. AJ Green has developed to a pretty good player, and he was picked up the same year as Marjon

MB i think he is lacking the basketball mind and mentality. That is what he has shown so far. There are flashes but rare. If he cannot perform in summer league against rookies then during nba games not sure what will he do.

Marjon is trash. He must realize in his head he is just a 3&d guy and try to excel in defence. No more than 2 dribbles. Secure passes back to the playmaker if the door is closed. That's it. Then he may have a chance at a second contract somewhere.

Marjon is very disappointing. Looks to have but zero effort into making himself a role player. Seems to be training towards being a primary scorer which, why? Never gonna happen. You werent even the guy on your high school teams young fella. He should have added 20 lbs ar this point and every once of his efforts should have been to become a fantastic defender, work his off ball game in the corner. Idk who is training and developing but they either suck or are robbing Marjon blind. This will be his last season in the NBA

Bro who tf is the star player in this summer league rotation to allow Marjon to slide into the role player role? No one on the roster can create an advantage on this SL team so that leaves marjon as the only person to actually attempt to get his own shot. Complaining about role players doing too much in a SL game is crazy. How is he going to be catch and shoot low usage when everybody else is also playing like trash. News flash there’s no Giannis or Dame out there to create advantages to play off of. This SL roster is crazy imbalanced. There’s not even a real point guard or Center out there. Just a bunch of low usage wings and guards. Stop reading so much into “Marjon isn’t doing role player things”.
