I believe that this playthrough actually IS the authentic RS experience. The game was created back in the day where information was still slow to spread and players were expected to solve the puzzles using in game information and word of mouth only. There also wasn't a hyper-fixation amongst players towards efficiency.

I played OSRS for nearly ten years (not counting the fact that I played original RS2 from 2004-2012), and in all those years of playing OSRS, I can count on one hand the amount of times I met others who were genuinely social, not obsessed with efficiency, and were just enjoying the journey-and most of them didn't stick around for more than a few months; only one I met made it a full year, then he was off to college and I never heard from him again. The rest of the community in all my years of experience have been either completely silent, or outright toxic-and it's less likely for you to come across someone who *doesn't* have multiple 99s and BiS gear for their level than elsewise. The reality of the situation is simply that MMOs have changed and they will never again be what they once were. MMOs used to be about having a place to socialize and go on shared adventures with strangers who would eventually become friends-nowadays they're thinly-veiled Skinner boxes and isolated 'number-go-up' simulators where the players you're surrounded by exist solely for you to flex your status on or ignore/be ignored by entirely. It doesn't matter how *I* play the game if 99% of others aren't playing it that way anymore; I can't be social to myself, I can't enjoy a shared adventure alone.

This was epic. To this day I didn't know you could free those trolls with almost any weapon - no guide ever tells you that. They tell what you must bring, and I realized it has made me think that these quests must be really complex since how should anyone know that, but in fact there might be multiple similar kind of situations where there are many correct items. And just the idea that a quest can be done slightly differently is interesting, who knows what else he'll discover here. Also I think you must be one of the first ones to ever kick that god to death lmao. Epic content as usual.

In case it comes up again with the full inventory at Shantay Pass, you can take the pass, go through, drop a few things to make inventory space, go back through, grab your other stuff and a new pass and be able to fit the full inventory in one go rather than having to go to your destination and travel all the way back to get those extra few items :)

I remember doing this quest, stopping completely at Magic Logs, and not wanting to buy any of the GE. I did one Konar task, got a key, and bam, magic logs. I was so happy. Konar saved me the WC grind when I didn't want to do it.

I just didn't want to buy them. I've always preferred to get resources myself if possible, but I don't try to ironman everything. Honestly I'm just stingy with my gp and I think I just didn't like the price on the GE, but I don't fully remember.

A side note about your minimap: (doesn't spoil any quests, just a Quality of Life bit) I believe that you can zoom out your minimap to get better vision in places without a big map by scrolling out with your wheel while you're hovering over the map.
