I marshal at Woolacombe Dunes most weeks, and its always a pleasure to see visitors enjoying our wonderful course. Thanks for making a great video - come back soon.

What a lovely thing to do, takes some dedication to Marshall in the freezing cold so my respect goes out to you and the other volunteers. It really is a fantastic course, and will definitely be back in the near future!

Great run at Woolacombe Connor. We met at Barntaple when i was tail walker. Apoligies for rhe dogs making a racket at the start of the run! One was mine - Sigris . The other was my sisters - Coco. You passed my daigther at the start shes was in purple hoodie amd orange hat. Keep going. Keeping inspiring people. Big shout out to Chris who did your bar code scanning hes a legand with 500 plus parkruns under his belt. Was cold that day!

Thanks Mike! You and Sigris seem to be everywhere, didn’t realise that was you until this comment. Oh cool you’ve got most of the family on parkrun diaries now then! Wow 500!? That’s the most I’ve heard of, great stuff. And will do Mike, we’ve been invited to the Library for a wellbeing cafe as well as the jobcentre, so hopefully the word will start getting out and more people will take up running and make changes. It was absolutely freezing that day yes, must have been colder for you being the tailwalker 🥶

Awesome well done for your first one! Hopefully many more to come 😊 How did you find it?
@zygmuntIIIwuzza8 ай бұрын
@@addict2athlete Great, running in a group is way different than running alone. Although I am still not feeling the best after a cold I had recently, I managed to do the run in 28 mins.
@addict2athlete8 ай бұрын
Yeah it is, I find it helps to push you though. That’s a great time considering the cold as well. Hope you feel better soon and keep up the great work! 💪 🏃

parkrun - “always one word, always lower case” (it’s a brand!)
@addict2athlete10 ай бұрын
Sorry Nemesis, I’ve changed fonts since that video as it makes the writing all uppercase. Plus lowercase titles on KZbin really affect my OCD. But I do try to use all lowercase when I can

It’s lovely there, I imagine in the summer it would get a lot of participants, but it’s a stunning course and I highly recommend it! Winter makes it a bit easier as the sand is more compact

Just seen the course, it looks like great fun but hard work. I love trail running so might have to give that one ago in the future! Thanks for the suggestion

No noooo no heaton park is so much harder! I did it yesterday and those hills are killa I can't even walk today!
@addict2athlete10 ай бұрын
Haha I hope your legs have recovered a bit! Is that the one that’s starts off with a 1km hill? I’ll have to look into doing Heaton Park in the future 😃

at least its only one lap
@urglegurgle58079 ай бұрын
In answer to your query, nope, not statistically. That would be Great Yarmouth North Beach for the UK, Not that Parkrun want us to have easy access to statistics going forward, going by recent news. Still very much worth a go though, as with any parkrun, and has been challenging people for far longer than the new pretender.

Seems the beaches are the toughest courses and it’s not so much about elevation. I’ve heard of a few difficult courses with lots of elevation but the ones with sand seem to make it tough all round. Yeah this is a really great course and I highly recommend it if people are in the area.
