I’ve just been through the dictionary from front to back and can confirm that there are no words to describe how amazing this is! My 12-year-old daughter is in to running (it’s our daddy/daughter thing), doing junior parkruns and running with me, and she talks about running goals she has for when she is an adult. I’m going to sit with her and watch this again because as much as she loves her dad, what she will get from seeing an immensely talented female runner achieve something so amazing will inspire her in a way that I can’t. Well done, and thank you for this gift
@SarahPlace2 жыл бұрын
aww that is so lovely to hear thank you ollie. i would LOVE for more women to get into the sport of ultrarunning and see a better ratio on the start line of things like this! and i'm sure your daughter will be one of them in a few years time :)

I felt the same Ollie, as the other half of a daddy-daughter running duo. SO inspirational. Started running with my daughter when she was very young. She's 22, and I'm 58 now, and we still train and do fun adventure runs together (vids on my channel). I sent her a link to this video before I was even done watching it!

I go to Cornwall most years on holiday. I've "ran" quite a lot of the coastal path - only in sections though. The terrain is BRUTAL. You clamber more than you run and regularly turn your ankles on the uneven surfaces. The idea of tackling 100 miles of that in one go is NUTS!! I've got utter respect for everyone who took part in that race. Well done Sarah, the hug at the end from the race co-ordinator made me a bit emotional you did very well to stay so composed given how fatigued you must have been.

I have come across your channel today as I have started running again and want to do the 50 mile run in 2025. As a Former Royal Marines Commando, I can sympathise with Sarah with being in those dark places mentally and physically. What was amazing to see is the pure grit and determination to crack on to complete the 100 miles. Kudos to Sarah for completing it and the smile at the end was huge. Nice one Ben with the film and crewing for her. Your turn next?!....(I am yet to look through your other videos, maybe you have done it already!).

Congratulations Sarah!. You will remember that feeling when you crossed the finish line for a long time. It is something special. The Arc is my local race and is brutal. On average, only 50% finish because it is so tough, so to get around on your first attempt is a great achievement. Well done. I'd hoped to say hi at some point as I've been following both your channels for a while but our paths didn't cross over the weekend though my crew was parked next door at the Minack apparently. F@&k me! So much drama and emotion packed into every pixel of this film. Seeing Sara descend again into the night tired and forlorn made me think of Persephone remaining good to her promise to descend again into the darkness of the underworld. Just what do you say to someone in pain and hurting as much as they are determined and focused to see things through to the end? Perhaps, " do you want a pair of gloves" is the only consolation that can be given. You must felt so small to have forgotten the coke, Ben. After watching this I feel as If I've run the arc of attrition! Certainly run the gamut of pain, surfering, tenacity and perseverance that was the backbone of the story telling here and of Sarah's indefatigable character - also a lovely pair of feet! Not only liked this vid (although it simply doesn't seem enough to simply just "like" to acknowledge its brilliance!) I' ve also signed up to do the race next year. Here's hoping that the arc angels will have mercy on my soul.
