What is a cargo bike? A velotric discover can haul up to 440 total & a kid on the back rack with a seat & has a torque sensor - but is not a “cargo” bike 😮

The rear rack weight capacity on that pile of a bike is 66lbs thus negating it's kid hauling capabilities once we're out of the child seat. The ability to efficiently carry massive amounts of weight is what makes a cargo bike. That's a commuter bike. Plain and simple.

If the batteries didn't crap out like they have been and if you're not stuck going specifically to a Specialized dealer for service (vastly reducing your options for repair) and it's almost 2025 and we're putting a rear hub motor on a bike from a brand that built their E offerings with mid drive?! Cmon. It's nowhere close to the ultimate cargo bike. Especially since there is no such thing as an ultimate any type of bike.

This bike could be built better...If they would do what I personally know would make an excellent e-cargo build. It would then be considered nearly a PERFECT E-UTILITY bike that would be useful for a wide range of lifestyle activities.

@@homeroz2100 It is a hard ride (from those who were representatives of this bike model on KZbin) meaning Specialized could have installed front suspension for it, especially the bike being CARGO related. I have preferences in what leads a bike to ride better for myself. As doing my own research on why various bike businesses build the way they do, it is mainly to be more cost effective, but get the most profit out of it too. Check out Benno's builds. His bikes are COMPLETE; everything you may need to use an e-cargo bike for plus several other purposes for it, he has on his bikes. Some businesses here within USA have purchased some of his models and are selling them for less than what the original selling cost of it would be.
