thats what davinci isolation does to your audio when there is much noise in he background, some times it sounds decent but overall it gets hit pretty hard

The sound doesn't bother me. He used a shotgun mic that picked up too much ambient noise so he used digital noise reduction. The voice is quite clear and it would have been harsher on the hearing to leave the noise in.

I am wondering the same thing I just bought an R5C this year. It made me realize a lot about Panasonic. There are pros and cons to every manufacturer. My GH5 always had trouble focusing. I tend to forget about autofocus when shooting on a canon. Unless of course I'm shooting in slow motion and the autofocus doesn't really track well.

Now I really understand that the audio quality is extremely important... It's not only 50% from the the video production, it's at least 99% important, or even more... Until I finished to watch your KZbin video clip with very high efforts, I called to 911 and I was resuscitated 3 times. Also, at the end of your video, near me, almost 3 dozens of doctors were already in coma or in resuscitation process. One hour after, I was congratulated by the mayor of city for finishing to watch your video, and save the life of the precious doctors... It was a very good lesson about the audio quality of a KZbin video... Thanks a lot man!

As an Olympus shooter for most of my work and personal stuff, I don't really expect much more to come out of OM-Sys outside of maybe rebranding to meet the deadline for when they're not allowed to sell stuff branded with "Olympus" anymore. They got bought by a vulture company after the Pen-F annihilated them as a flop on release with how much it cost them to design and produce (the tooling cost were through the roof, it had a design with zero visible screws among more things, it still looks great, but it didn't sell in the numbers needed to not make it hurt the company). The new owners may invest enough into them to at least make the OM-1 Jr if the G9.ii does decently well, but everything else they've done has been leftover R&D from Olympus. It sucks to say that, my Olympus bodies have been workhorses for years, getting me job after job travelling around the world. Once you get past the menus people hate, the quick menu, customizable button, and mode switch to toggle dial functions makes changing everything quick and easy. Olympus PRO lenses (especially the f1.2 17mm, 25mm, and 45mm trio for my work along with the 20mm f1.4 and 75mm f1.8) are some of the best glass you can get for the money, hands down.

On the R8, I have M mode as 4k 24p, C1 as 1080 24p, and C2 as 1080 180p. Quick switch toggle is nice and easy.

Try an instamic. (absorb the frequencies) or use it as a stand alone mini recorder too. Don't HAVE to transmit audio via bluetooth or WiFi (but I would because it's easier. Your pendant will protect you lol). Smaller than my thumb, 32-bit float audio.

I bought an R10 for $600 USD refurbished from Canon on a Black Friday sale. Very nice camera. I have also purchased the R8 this week used for $1081 USD. I am not sure I needed the R8, but I can sell the R10 for more than I paid for it... so the R8 will probably stay. - Frank

I think camera companies figured out that most people have a gimbal, so they don't try to design a camera with rock steady IS. The IS in most cameras are made for when you are standing still, not walking around. Personally, if I am walking around, I use a gimbal, and have it with a shoulder strap for when it gets too heavy. They also don't care about slow motion. Most people are not filming themselves running across the street in slow motion. I bet most people don't ever even use slow motion. I rarely use it myself.

In that side- by- side of the Canon vs Nikon, the Nikon crushed the Canon. I think your Sony vid the other day, where you locked the Sony into one colour temperature, worked really well - This is what I'm going to do with my Fuji - actually, the best footage I've gotten out of my Fuji previously, is when I left it in the 'Cloudy day' setting. I will never understand why people complain about h264 and h265 files being difficult to scrub through and edit. THEY ARE NOT EDITING CODECS. They were NEVER engineered with editing in mind and never will be. Thet are delivery codecs. Period. End of discussion. Sure, manufacturers can tweak them per licensing agreements and codec parameters but h264 and h265 will always be what they are. Any editor worth half their salt will create proxies. Is creating proxies boring or time-consuming? Sorry about your bad luck. Use a camera that has ProRes or record to an external monitor.

Every other codec I've tried using h265 is just fine. It's only Canon and Gopro that make super unnecessarily hard to edit files.

People just need better computers if thats what they want to do. My computer steamrolls through h.264, h.265, and AV1 like nothing. But then again that's what I would expect with an i9 13900 and RTX 4080. Though I do agree they should be recording in some form of log or prores if they're even semi serious about making videos. I'm personally dabbling with Cinema Raw DNG.

@Chris. Who wants to deal with log or raw doing KZbin vlogs? Not many people. I don't do video much but I just use flat or standard profile when I do. I do grade it minimally. Everyone is always beyond pleased. Unless you are making short films or more it seems kinda dumb to me lol. Some people like nerding out on the computer editing more than others though I guess. Best thing is to film it correctly in the first place. My laptop eats h265 up easy

@nicedward7544 I never said people should use raw or log for YT vlogs (even though log is just a flat profile anyway), I said if anyone is at least semi serious about video editing than they should probably record in something other than h.264/h.265 since they'll most likely be color grading and adding in LUTs at that point. If you're just vloging than good old 8 bit h.264 is just fine.

Sony worst feature: Type A cards. For the same money, half the storage of type B and twice the cost, and half the speed. That's a trifecta. Close runner up for Sony is software upgrades. Canon worst feature: Lens cost. Sure, the super slow kit lenses are not expensive. But if you want a good lens that you would actually want to use and will look better than a $100 cell phone, you'll be running to the bank with a wheelbarrow. Nikon's worst feature is video capability. They are always last to the party. And now to be fair to the big three, the best features. Canon's best features are color science and use of type B cards. Nikon has insane lens selection for F mount, where you can use the same lenses grandpa used and they still work, they work great, and are cheaper than dirt. Another plus for Nikon is that everything is decent. They don't just totally truncate some feature so it's useless (are you listening, Canon?). For Sony, the best feature is innovation, because they are always first to the party with new ideas (EXCEPT memory cards). And a tie for Sony excellence is the third party lenses. The Sony lenses are great, so they can let in third party. They're expensive, but even the G master lenses are not Canon L glass expensive. So Sony is not afraid of companies like Tamron and Sigma, whereas Canon trembles and makes funny squeaking noises.

The image quality from the R8 in this video is pretty bad, IMO. I am watching in 4K on a 40" screen and it looks pretty bad. The Z30 looks way better.
