Your budget camera probably looks better to your audience than your more expensive "pro" camera. There's something magical about a cheap camera that just works in auto mode and looks great. There's less pressure when you use it, and you can just focus on making good content.

Mix pre-3 is the best I use it all the time and if you decide to buy the noise assist plug-in you won't regret it but it is $300. The best thing about the audio interfaces that technically it's a field recorder so if you ever want to do this show on the road where you answer questions you could just need to bring a battery bank.

Agree with your nikon z30. Beast of thingy . Bought as a easy backup for backup and just love the ease of use and pic quality, colour and everything else. Can write a book on the thingy. For the price unbeatable. Even wildlife with 400f4 nikon.

Bad lighting wont be any better with a 50000 dollar camera, like, who are you kidding? You think Hollywood shoots movies in poor lighting and their magical medium format digital film cameras just fixes the lighting??? LOL, no camera in the world can fix poorly lit scenes. But a damn good lens and the right settings can make the difference, does not matter if its shot on a GH2 or Sony A7s3

@@SMGJohn did you ever had an A7Siii in your hands? I owned the ZVE1 with a Tamron 20-40 2.8. And compared to my G9, this Sony can see in the dark. And there is no comparisson to the ZV1... There is a huuuuge difference when it come to lighting and cameras/lenses.

@@SMGJohn 9mm 1.7 Leica. If Zoom needed, I take the 12-35 2.8. Sony ZVE1 with 20mm 1.8. I sold the Sony because I didnt like the colors and the stabe. But the light sensivity was incredible. So basically youre saying a Sony RX100 VII will perform in dim light same good or bad like a A7Siii. Is that what youre sayin?

I think it’s the bokeh. R8 is full frame and therefore the 40mm f2 on the Nikon aps-c is like almost equivalent to the canon stopped down to f4

All 3 dynamic handheld mics sounded great. The shotgun condensers sounded a bit meh to me. The MixPre3 is amazing!

I'm so happy for you that you have a mixpre3, they're so great. The limiters in the mixpre3 are fantastic, as are the microphone preamps. Just carry it with you in a fanny pack. I'm surprised by the 8 bit supremacy of the Nikon z30, especially with the 40mm lens. The OG pocket of course looks great, I'm not a huge fan of the yellow Canons. Super blurred backgrounds have always been overrated, from the time the Nikon d90 (Nikon was first!) came with video. I'm waiting for an updated Z6 with some trickle down Z8 features as a long time Nikon/Pannyboy aficionado.

e935 no faults but maybe I'm just used to it e945 amplified saliva sounds md46 sounded kinda cheap me66 I liked but the sample was short mkh416 scrotum enhancing levels of midbass and good resolution I'd go with the mkh416 This is the best way to audition them though. As you probably noticed- mics sound different depending on the preamp used just like speakers sound different depending on the amp they're hooked up to

Definitely the 935 sounds the best 🤣 They're all very similar though. The Nikon is some good kit, excellent colours straight out of camera. No fiddly editing or colour grading required 👍

Tbf, all the mics were fine, though the 945 and on were definitely better.. but you could probably overcome that by auditioning preamps, particularly the nice rack-mount models.. I've been through some of that in musician land. Dynamic mics can also be altered with input impedance, not to mention rack-mounted includes hi-fi valve models.. But none of it matters without good content.

You can also use selfie stick, they are free in nature. Just take any stick... take it! TAAAAKE IT! And then you can use some tape or something to stick your camera on it. No need for tripods or quatrodomes...

@@basharatali9946 Outdoors from dawn til dusk with the correct settings I'd say it still competes with many of the modern action cams. The newer ones with bigger sensors look better indoors and at night.

Fuji X-S20 is quite nice camera for family/hobby video - handheld, not walking, static with no or slow panning - super stable, even when 16-80mm is zoomed-in at 80mm. Only it looses focus when zooming in/out, but that would be annoying to do in videos even if it was not loosing focus. Downside is overheating, that various people report. Didn't happen to me for my short videos, yet.

I don't know if cheaper cameras are entirely better than expensive ones, but they are better in several ways. Less expensive cameras are much better at saving you money, and the end resulting image of both is so unnoticeable by the majority of viewers. Buying expensive is more about desire, whereas buying inexpensive is more about necesity

my 6400 is cheap & awesome... needs a tripod for the pixel peepers, but me with shaky old hands I can do well enough to make me happy. Add a G full frame lens & I'm very happy, as you point every thing is arbitrary. I like SONY colours... weird I know. The 6400 has the Sony 9 colour chip, so the best SONY colour available at the time of release. I would like a full frame, but I enjoy the extra reach of the 6400 when added to my 600mm for Moon shots. I love my combo of 90mm G with the 6400, I used it for some specky sport shots, all magazine quality, as a friend pointed out. I'm a hobbyist. 6400 is now an old camera... that commands a larger price now (around 1300) than when I bought mine on special for $970 on special four... five years ago, maybe 6 I'm 60, exact dates elude me. AU dollars.
