Jordan 39 is basically a running shoe disguised as a basketball shoe... When I tried a pair, I felt I could roll my ankle super easily. Lateral stability is literally nonexistent, which is a shame because I like the rest of the shoe. I don't understand why Nike decided not to put some kind of shank plate or give it a wider outrigger. If this shoe had better lateral stability, it could be one of the best Jordan shoes ever created, what a huge miss from Nike

exactly ... so sad cuz these are so sick, and have potential. But the lock-down and stability is brutal. It really is a running shoe lol. All the materials are too premium and plush. You almost need a bit of rigidity in a shoe so that it can lock your foot down properly and provide a court connection that you can trust.

This shoe sounds like it isn’t meant for guards or players who do hard stops or shifty players. Sounds more for shooters or guards or players who move off the ball. They sound mad comfy with the full length zoom air and full zoom x which is Nike premium running cushion foam.

I agree. I bought a pair of these to just wear out-I just went through 20 miles of Disney in two days with them on the whole time-they are SUPER comfortable. I was very leery of the ankle support and won’t play in them. But love how they look and feel casually

Played in it for 2 weeks and this is the sorest my legs have ever been due to a lack of torsional support, which is weird to say because it also has the best cushion of any ball shoe I’ve ever worn. All in all, worst performance for an AJ model as far back as I can remember. Even the 31 with the traction problem is a better performer than the 39, such a shame because I had really high hopes for this model and I love it aesthetically.

Bro same! I am salty that these suck for hooping lol. The lock down and stability is just not even close to the demands of a basketball shoe. I wish Jordan/Nike would've just marketed it as a casual shoe, because you can't trust these things to keep you safe at all.

This has so much potential. Would have been top 5 if it just had a shank plate. Looks great, feels great, but doesn’t perform great because of the lack of stability. It’s a shame, but I’m glad Jordan sent me these instead of me shelling out 200 lol

Hi, For me amazing shoe in many aspects (traction, appearance, cushioning), but terrible pain in the achilles tendon as back of the shoe is constantly hitting back of the leg, after playing for few minutes I had blood on my heel/leg, which is a no-go for me

i did my achilles in this shoe. 4th time id worn it. felt the potential roll occasionally. but felt great otherwise. was excited for this shoe. great ride. was it the shoe? full rupture. now 2 months into recovery.

The cushion will probably be more stable. But the overall stability, i don’t think so. The shape of the cupsole is a big factor.

So horrible slide outs resulting in almost injury, bad fit so your foot slides inside, and unstable cushioning. Really sounds like a winner. They must have spent their entire R&D budget on designing that nonfunctional bovine pattern on the side. Jordan brand fell off hard, they have some of the worst shoes on the market today.
