Jen, I came across your video's quite by accident one day 7 months ago (I Live in Aussie) Thanks to your first TRS video, I ordered 2 from Kyle. Due to the complexity of the builds, they do take time to complete. He is getting close to finishing the second now, I cannot wait to see the finished products running on my layout. I do enjoy your updates and watching your Railway run and expand. thank you.

Funny, I was thinking for a few years that one day maybe we'd have steam/smoke not only from stack but from cylinders as well ! And now we have !!! I hope this grows to be included in all Brit/US/Euro steam issues. M, Los Angeles, Ca.

This is an outstanding improvement in realism. A few doubts and concerns raised on here by modellers, but I really don't think there is much cause for alarm using this system. Absolutely stunning. A hair-dryer at the end of a session would work ok if you really worry about moisture and corrosion anywhere.

They look amazing. I bought a Black Series from Dapol and it was the biggest mistake I have ever made. It left an oily mess on my 87 feet of track that I then had to clean. I sent it back and wouldn't go near one again.

Nice review Jen. Ive had these 'smoke' generators in a couple of steam tug RC models. They do need the right level of water added to them to work and once you know what this is, are easy to refill repeatedly.

In my opinion, both this one and Central Los Andes are two of the best railroad modelling channels on KZbin, always showing all the great stuff you can do with an artistic view, no matter how much space you may have for a layout.

Just a question, with all of the atomised, fine mist water, did you end up with adhesion problems with heavier loads - or even contact issues? Al.

MTH already has it. Their most recent flock of models comes with "Whistle steam" that activates as you blow the whistle.

A lot going on at the front of the loco but it is very effective. A 1980's Hornby Coronation Class that I have, has a 'lamp pick-up' for a lamp to a light pipe, which is vey intermittent, could handle such a system, space-wise, if the old tungsten bulb and light-pipe is removed. Hmm. Cheers Jenny! Keep Well, now!

Jenny this new tech is really cool. The only thing is seeing all the water that was under the Engine and on it. Still new technology and they will improve on it. Be neet if it had a tank and dropped its own water in the steamer.

Hi Jenny, pretty impressive! only one thing bothers me with all the steam flowing around would it not effect scenery as most modellers use pva glue which is water based and can be reactivated by water? just a thought I could be way off the mark. Cheers from down under, Wally

I had similar thought. I doubt just a small amount would have much effect but if you had a number of locos running around for an extended session and did so on a regular basis? Also not great for card buildings etc. I suppose you could use a dehumidifier although they're not cheap. Might be something to let others be guinea pigs and see if they have any issues.

Hi Jenny, interesting video. I've a couple of questions though: 1) How long does the effect last before it needs a top up on average? 2) What price range are they thinking of marketing? 3) Have they tested to see how much moisture it adds to the atmosphere in say a typical attic/railway room? I'm just thinking if you had a number of locos fitted with this and they were pumping out water vapour over a period of time whether that might not be particularly great for your layout, rather like a room that suffers from condensation.

The conversions are individual to the loco /customer so price would depend on what you specify
@timhuggins1993

For most people amateurs not exhibitionists group they would only realistically be able to afford one loco fitted including the £120 or so zimo only usually sound decoder at extra cost . On my Oo Hornby king class I was quoted £180 for the chimney smoke alone , £100 extra for drain cocks then the zimo sound decoder £120 minus speakers on top . There is real coal load , lamp lights and flickering firebox , weathering I cluded free though ! Like Jenny says understable the cost for the he first ever creator to achieve this most protopically !

Nice video, but I have to point out that REE Modeles ho scale steam locos have had this feature for many years and owning one with it fitted (standard) it is faultless. They are a beautiful loco and the steam effects from the cylinder cocks is stunning. They are expensive, but no more than the TRS conversion and they are HO not OO (British) thank you.

Have seen the REE Modeles ho scale steam locos and they are supremely well detailed but the smoke feature is just not as realistic as this TRS conversion in my humble opinion. TRS comes out tops for me.

Impressive but.... water mix with oil and electronics, is not a good marriage. Oil and water miced are creating a mess. Marklin has tried one time a few years ago on a diesel locomotive and stop it. Why not use the system of the electronic cigarettes?

And if you like the smell of lavender in your train room add a drop of your wife's washing 'Lavender' liquid. At the same time get the benefit of deep rail cleaning! But don't forget the 'brisk' blow job to get it going. Wow, high tech is changing Model Railroading for ever now - especially the 'inter - action' ... but be ready to re-ballast your track and maybe change the electronics. Next step is the safety valves steam blow-off - to use the same terminology - and a real steam whistle. Yet an option I guess as is the involvement of our wives into the more and more appealing hobby. What more do we want ?
