Is THIS what the next Animal Crossing will look like?

Nintendo did actually release two Animal Crossing games for one console in the past. They released Animal Crossing: New Leaf and that spin-off, Happy Home Designer on the 3DS. (If you meant Nintendo has never released two main series games on the same console, then I’m sorry for being mistaken.) But, even though they did release those two games on the same console, they're probably not going to do that again. Anyway, as I said before, whenever the next Animal Crossing game does release, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. As for what it’ll bring, that’s what I’m not sure on. Hopefully, it’ll have the usual things: fossils, fishing, bug catching, shaking trees to get fruit, all that (Even the ridiculously expensive loans.) And hopefully, the way we can decorate our houses in recent games will be brought back, as well. And most importantly, hopefully this game will have something every Animal Crossing game needs: something that makes it stand out from others. The original Animal Crossing for the GameCube (or in Japan’s case, the Nintendo 64, since that’s when the actual first Animal Crossing game released in Japan only) has the Wishing Well, the balls villagers played with, and even 15 villagers living in the same town. With all that and many more, it was a great start to this great franchise. Wild World had events like the Bright Nights, Flower Fest and Acorn Festival, and it also had Boondox, that town that needed donations from the player (it’s thanks to players that Tiny Tommy Hicks was finally able to have a proper 5th birthday.) City Folk/Let’s go to the City has the city, a new area to explore, where all kinds of shops, new and familiar, could be found. It also had Serena, a special character who appeared in the town’s fountain once it was built thanks to the player’s donations. (She was also how players could get the silver and golden axe.) New Leaf changed things up for once, this time letting players be the mayor of the town. And let’s not forget Club LOL, where players could dance the night away with DJ K.K.’s tunes (except on Saturdays), and of course Tortimer’s Island, where it had minigames that really helped players get the most out of online play. Happy Home Designer letting players get creative with designing houses, and then facilities. It may have only been a spin-off, but if you think about it, it's because of that spin-off that we could decorate like that in New Horizons. Its spiritual successor, Happy Home Paradise, also introduced new things that opened new paths for decorating homes. Amiibo Festival was intended to be a party game, but it looks like it wasn't handled as well as it could have. Though, it introduced new kinds of minigames like Desert Island Escape, which needed amiibo cards to play. It was an interesting idea, and gave amiibo cards another reason to be used. (And if you remember, Desert Island Escape became playable in New Leaf after the Welcome Amiibo update if players had the Wii U item. Maybe Nintendo could do something like that again, but with new minigames? Or maybe even a spiritual sequel to Desert Island Escape?) Pocket Camp had interesting ideas like fishing nets, honey, friendship levels with villagers, and those amenities at the campsite. I know it was only a mobile game, but some of those ideas could have been re-used in the main games. New Horizons introduced crafting, and eventually cooking, collecting Nook Miles to redeem things, placing furniture outdoors and not just in our houses, terraforming to change the layout of the island, the list goes on! It really stands out from the other games in the main series. With all that considered, what could the next game do to stand out? What could its main gimmick be? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Nintendo comes up with. (By the way, Twilight, if you've made it this far, after looking at the chapters for this video, for 'Will Animal Crossing be a launch title', it looks like you accidentally put 'lunch' instead of 'launch'. It's okay, everyone makes mistakes.)

This is true that Happy Home Designer and New Leaf is the only time that we had two Animal Crossing games on one platform. I was referring more to the mainline games though as many take HHD to be more of a DLC game than an actual game. It's all good though. It's been amazing to see how the franchise has changed over the years and I'm appreciative of you sharing those features of each game. Fingers crossed we get another similarly big change to the gameplay which makes for a better experience in the next title! Thanks for correcting me on the chapters. My fingers must have missed the A, I've corrected it now 😊

Honestly the only reason why I want to buy the switch 2 would be mostly for Animal Crossing since I doubt any other game would interest me enough and Splatoon 4 is ages away

That's totally fair. To be honest, I have 5 switches and four of them are exclusively used for Animal Crossing. I would probably be buying the next console largely just for Animal Crossing as well.

I'm still going to cope about the possibility of it being in 2025 lol, because tbh I don't know if I'll even buy the switch two until the next animal Crossing comes out, since the last 3d zelda was just last year (those are the franchises I care about the most)

That makes sense. I learnt the same lesson with the Wii U, which I only bought to play Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon. Look at how quickly that got replaced. Hopefully we do hear something about the next Animal Crossing game soon 😊

That's fair enough. Until we hear something from Nintendo there will never be official confirmations of a new game. Hopefully we hear something soon though!
