Is this WILD CAMPING ? | 17 hours of NON-STOP RAIN !

Decided to setup ny tent and tarp 50 metres from car at loch lomond . Is this really wild camping ? Also had to deal with 17 hours of non stop heavy rain !

Great camp. You gave us such a laugh with the unexpected blow torch you pulled out 🤣, the extra gear, then the blow torch, loved it😂. As for wild camping of course it is, or as I always say, everyone in a tent is camping regardless of how they do it. As you know spike's only got the one lung hence mobility issues, so unless I'm on a solo camp I'm not far away from the van or car either, and the big house we go to, I'm usuallynout the back or not far away either, but i don't care. I just a snobbery thing I think the last decade or so. We're all camping and as long as we're leaving no mess and hurting no one who cares if it's "wild" or not. Don't get hung up on it 🏕👍

@@OUTDOORALLY haha was good anyway and random 😅. Did you ever get the bobcat off Ayrshire camper? I forgot about it until I started using mine again a few weeks ago. Aye as for the wild camping and gear snob brigade I just ignore them 😅👍🏕. I got kicked off a group years ago for sticking up for a family getting ripped to shreds for supposedly not "wild" camping cos the had a big tent, 3 kids, a fire and a car but you could see they had fun and left no mess. Apparently I'm a troll, a horrible piece of work after being told I was being removed 😂😂. I never lost any sleep over it, but seriously do they expect folk to drag a full family set up and kids up mountains?🙄👍

@@mechellemulligan never did go through and get the bobcat , worried its too small for me , im 6'2 . But those pics with it up in the snow looked good . As for the kit snobs , yeah probably all their kids have their own hillebergs 😁

@@OUTDOORALLY aye I remember you saying you were tall. I think it might be a bit cramped for you. I'm about 5'4 or 5'5, can never remember and I'm fine and cosy in it innthe winter. No cycling to work this morning. Its -8 here and like an ice rink 😬😬❄️👍. Aye I know some like the good gear as they do genuinely go up mountains in all weathers, but some spend thousands to go a night away here and there 😅👍

Great vid Ally, that's wildcamping to me, no amenities and your in the wild, no difference walking 10 miles or 10 yards, I'm a bit on the fence whether people in motorhomes parked in a lay-by is classed as wildcamping though ?? The video didnt show the half of it , when i first pulled up the rain was coming down that hard i thought it was hailstones . I threw on a disposable yellow poncho as the jacket i was wearing was more a cold weather jacket, people were driving by honking their horns and laughing , thinking i was a madman 😂 but all was good in the end , never a dull moment on my adventures , something always goes belly up 👍🏻🏕

people have different variations of what wild camping really is. Personally I love a car camp but I never park next to busy road to make me feel like I'm away from civilization. There are many benefits having the car close if the weather turns or you want to carry luxuries like you did. I say who cares! If your camping your camping! Like you mentioned not everyone can hike far or have the proper gear to travel far, but the outdoors is for everyone to enjoy! Great video ally 👍

hey ye picked the right tent our kid the eurohike tamar2 i have the same tent in green and its never let me down even winter camping up ashurst beacon west lancishire it rained for 2 days striaght and it didn,t leak so yes good tent

Trusty Eurohike tent is so trusty you have to pitch it under a tarp! Ha Ha love your sense of humour but if you pay little for a tent you get little. Good luck

For the price its a cracking beginner tent .Always kept me dry and decent room for my kit . Not everbody can afford to pay hundreds for a tent . It gets me out the house and is wateroroof , that'll do for me just now , thanks for watching 👍🏻🏕

It is a shame that the heavy use of Loch Lomond as a recreational and camping area is destroying the banks, not to mention the litter and mess left by disrespectful users.

I call it car camping near enough. I have arthritis in my knees now so I car camp quite a lot. I have the One Tigris hot tent an a Winnerwell wood burning stove and it weighs a ton so going far from car with heavy loads isn't an option any longer. Storing dry wood in the car beats having to scrounge for wet wood as well. Finding places to safely park my chuggy is the head nip though. Enjoyed the vid.

Yeah i think it wont be long before i'll be doing the same . Im not as fit as i used to be .Afer some of my trips , especially ones that involve a few hours hiking in , ive usually got aches and pains for days afterwards 😁 . But theres only so much you can see from the roadside , the best spots are always the ones you need put some effort in to get to. But yeah when the day comes im not fit enough to do it anymore , ill be getting a wee campervan or setting up my tent beside my car .As long as im getting out , thats all that matters .Thanks for watching the videos , much appreciated 👍🏻🏕

Anywhere with a tent on Lomond is wild to me....any tent with a tarp above it will be just dandy! I use a £20 tent in high summer don't care if it gets burnt or broke 🏕🏕👍👍
