I highly recommend you research the culture before you go to Japan again. Most of the basic things that you didn't know are things you learn with just a little research. Also, why are you ordering Soju in Japan? Sake is from Japan. Soju is from Korea. Basic on the bottle and flavor alone, that was def Sake. I'm glad you had a good time in Tokyo.
