In F1 22 I used the medium TC, but in 23 with the handling improvements, I turned it off because it’s so much better.

the difference between no tc and tc is that tc puts a limiter on you that you can't pass no matter how well you drive. Turning off tc when you are good enough without it is like undoing a bottle that your times were stuck in or unlocking a door to potential pace. It doesn't make a big difference, but no assists/no tc is the way to advance

Nice video Marcel! It would be interesting to see if ABS drivers could keep using 50 brake biais like in the previous game in order to rotate the car better. In a circuit like Brasil or Las Vegas for exemple because of those heavy "breaking-while-turning" zones. We all know that this year no ABS driver have to use between 57-53 Brake biais (depending on the corner) to not block the rears. But by doing that they loose a bit of rotation. So the real question is...would ABS be quicker than no Abs? 😉

​@@martinwaby9946 in some slow corners you can break with 53 brake biais without ABS like in Qatar or brazil for example. 53 is the limit for breaking into a slow corner.

TC and ABS in racing is only used to save tires, good drivers don't push it into the ABS or TC, because its slower. I'm fine with f1 23 having it in the game, since it isn't a sim, i'm also fine with telecam, but i use cockpitcam myself, its just more immersive.

i drove with medium a lot before but now can drive without TC and tested it in Texas..if you know how to drive max with TC Medium its not that slower then TC Off...for the first 2-3 Laps. Big difference is, tyre wear is higher with Medium TC so you will gain time with TC off after 3-4 laps. At 10 laps tyres were about 3-4% more worn on TC Medium then if you have TC Off.

Sadly I still make more mistakes, so running on medium TC I am the most competitive as I can get atm. 😜 But great to know how big the differences actually are, and what is still best... If tou are loosing the rear end to often i suggest you move your brake bias a little bit up

You could move the brake bias, but you should also focus on trail braking more. The longer you stay on the brakes, the more you need to trail brake

Im an Xbox player with a controller. I played 60 A.I in '22, now im at 85 A.I for '23 ans i have zero assists with a regular manual. Im about 1-1.5 seconds slower than the real world F1 times around Bahrain and Canada. The moment im online, im losiny 2 seconda a lap to most the other drivers... And in tanked, there is no setup changes... In stumped.

I'm not great at the game, turning off TC makes it a lot more high risk and slightly slower at the moment , however personally its just so much more enjoyable feels like racing. Its raises a ceiling for you to grow into. Car goes off track, being able to spin it around in first gear is cool. Can't do that with TC on either.

I think you should just be more careful with the throttle after braking, never press throttle down 100% as soon as possible but slowly gradually. I also don't think wheel changes anything, just the amount of throttle.

Do not bother with No tc or Medium tc with controller. Use full tc with controller and you can become very fast this way.

the only thing you can really do is be as gentle as possible with acceleration, you can practise by going very slow on the throttle and from lap top lap you accelerate more until you find the limit and then you try using the limit for multiple laps. I use no tc and no ABS on Controller and that was basically all i "practised"

i am a wheel player, my wheel broke, i tried controller, there is a SLIGHT SLIGHT difference between mid tc and no tc, so use mid if you wanna be 100% sure to have fun and dont care about performance too much, use 0 tc if you wanna be as fast as you can. but they're both easy in this game

insanely difficult to be very fast with no traction control on controller. let me put it this way. I league raced in 10 leagues in the past year. I only know of THREE guys out of hundreds and hundreds, over a thousand league racers, I only know of 3 that are elite fast top level that use No TC and controller. Thats how rare it is. 99.9% of elite fast, the fastest guys, are on expensive wheel and pedals, and No TC.

this is fact and not opinion. elite top f1 game racers will always use No TC and be fastest. However, they are the less than 1% playing the game. Way less. The fact is, nearly all of us playing the F1 game, are better off using Full TC. It makes the game more enjoyable, and you are not negatively affecting other people. What happens when amateurs try using No and Medium tc after like never practicing? What happens? They lose traction often. Spin out sometimes. Messing up other people experience. I think its wrong for elite drivers to recommend using No Traction Control. No traction control should be strictly for professionals who practice all the time and never spin out. Guys that have been using no tc for YEARS (3+?). Anyone that has only played F1 games for a year or 2 or less than a year, 99.9% of them are better off and MUCH safer using Full TC. Period.
