We switched our feed from TSC to a local feed mill. When we started the switch I also started making fermented feed with the new stuff. We also make our own scratch grains using oats, barley, flax, millet, milo sunflower seeds, rye, alfalfa and wheat berries which we sprout as well as ferment for the girls. It's been a game changer for all our chickens and ducks. They will not touch any dry feed we leave out for them as a just in case. The girls drink way less water as well because of the fermented feed. By doing a ferment feed and fermented grains we have reduce our feed by almost 50%.

Thank you for sharing. It's been informative. Might I suggest sprouting some of that wonderful organic seed for your girls? They will love the sprouts too.

I cannot find your build video of your chicken coop on your playlist. Where do I find that out?

I have had budgies(American parakeets) for over 40 years now. I feed them seeds, just budgie seeds, and sometimws sprouted seed grass, and lettuce, washed chickweed. That's what they like. I have had people tell me that pellets are better. I read label, on my food and my pets food. There's strange junk in the pellets. If it's in the seed mix they tend to avoid it. If there's pellets in their food, they tend to eat it as a last resort, maybe, to keep from starving as the bowl is otherwise empty. Animals aren't stupid, don't get mad dog owners, you know it's true, except for dogs, they'll eat almost anything. They feel, have emotions and know what food is. Unlike some "people", they know what male and female are and don't get confussed. Animals, they're real, they don't hide anything except that they're sick when they're sick, or their eggs, because they're protecting them. You're welcome! Whole food is always better for us and them, than anything man puts together.
